I read 84 books last year. I keep a list every year and this year, my only challenge is to read more than 84! I don't know if it's possible, I read a lot last year but during the 4 years before that, I read about 60-65 books, not more. So... We'll see! I am going to start "Brooklyn", by Irish writer Colm Toibin. It's said to be really good.

I resigned from reading House of Leaves. I didn’t feel like dealing with that kind of experimental prose. I’m not in the mood for that during holidays. Maybe I'll give it a second chance in winter .

I don't blame you... it really takes effort and commitment to get through it..
I have no idea how long it took me, but it took a long time.

The question is, is it even worth the trouble to to finish it ? I've got very mixed feeling after reading just a few pages. The introduction was quite promising, but when I had to face the mockery of pretentious academic style, I didn't know what to think anymore .
