I speak American-English with the slightest hint of a New York accent (although New York accents don't really exist anymore, so I guess it is more a pick up of my parents' older New York accents that are now only barely existant as well), but for some reason tend to spell certain words like "color" in the British way (colour).

I used to speak English-English in Hong Kong. Then I came to Canada when I was nine. Now my aunt from Dorset, England says that I have a Canadian accent.

My accent is...confused. People often ask whether I have a British accent of some sort. My accent is kind of influenced by those around me...if I like what I hear. I think my accent can sound very British if I'm speaking to someone from England because my tongue picks matches the sounds I like or something (not on purpose..it just happens). People also get confused because I have clear diction that, when it's especially crisp for some reason, sounds like an English-English accent. Then again, my Virginian grandmother can also rub off on me a bit, and I even notice a bit of a change in my mom's accent. It's not that I imitate the sounds exactly, but my speech is somehow softer around the edges and a little...twangier? Slow? It doesn't assimilate entirely, but I can tell the difference if I listen to myself. A Boston, Jersey, or Texan accent has no effect on me, though. I'm not very fond of certain dialects, so I guess I ignore them.

I'm so weird.

I'm a pretty good mimic and I love to fake accents. I find them very fascinating.

That's interesting, eloes!

When I talk to my friends my accent goes more Northern whereas when I talk to my parents it turns to a glass-cut Estuarine accent...I didn't realise I did it until people told me...
