a quick easy and pleasurable read ... but more of a 'guilty pleasure' type book.

way too hollywoodish for me (read: mass-market lowest-common-denominator), writing was ... underwhelming.

I will give Mr Brown a bit of credit however ... Angels and Demons was better, and provided a bit more substance, story/plot-wise.

I agree! The writing style was very amateurish...it reminded me of reading teenage mystery books like Nancy Drew.

The subject matter was interesting, but if you know anything about early Christianity/paganism/ancient mythology, then the theories are really nothing new or innovative.

Haven't read it yet, but people I know who did are all enthousiastic about it. Right now I'm too busy with other books I want to read hehe, but I'm definitely going to get it when it's in the library.

I read Angels & Demons first en I loved it. Indeed more of a nice adventure/thriller than 'real literature', but lovely to read, a real page turner and a very interesting subject.

To be honest I was a bit dissapointed by The Da Vince Code after that. Less interesting, not such a good story and not so entertaining as Angels & Demons. I don't really understand why The Da Vince Code is such a big hype where as his other books are just as good or even better.

I liked deception point too, and digital fortress was a bit boring evry now and then, but still nice to read

But, I'm disappointed that they're going to ruin it by making a movie- movies rarely compare to the books they are based on.
