The biggest winner yesterday is the biggest loser today - American Hustle. Completely shut out. Lol. August: Osage County is also shut out, but that's not that surprising. 12 Years a Slave fails to make a mark again. Gravity shows up, but not much. Funny how just yesterday morning it looked like a two-horse race between those two with the first being thought of the likely winner, and now the race is wide open. LOVE IT.

LAFCA is the first place where Gravity has featured prominently. Her is getting a lot of love from a lot of places but it is a shame that it probably won't be considered by the Academy.

I think Her will get Best Actor,Best Director anf Best Picture nods but I doubt it will win any (even though the film looks amazing). Also Scarlett Johansson is starting to get a lot of buzz but I don't know if she can get nominated just for her voice.

It's definitely one of the toughest season ever I love it.

I love Joaquin but the race is far too tough for him to feature and he doesn't have Weinstein pushing him to campaign this year. As for Scarlett, it would be unfair for the academy to nominate her after snubbing all of Andy Serkis' performances in the LTTR trilogy. I do think that it will feature in Picture, Director and Screenplay though.

Screen Actors Guild (SAG) announced their nominations today. Poor Robert Redford was snubbed in favor of Forest Whitaker. Especially with All is Lost getting a Stunt nomination. Redford was part of the 'consensus five'. I still think Redford will end up with an Oscar nomination, but this is quite a blow. Also poor is Amy Adams, who was not able to crack through the 'consensus five' in Best Actress. Again, I still think she has a chance to get an Oscar nomination, but it's hard to imagine whom she'd replace. Judi? Meryl? Emma? S.Actress seems set. Octavia Spencer and Sally Hawkins could surprise, but it'll be hard. S.Actor, on the other hand, is still very confusing. An Ensemble nomination for Dallas Cowboys Club is very surprising.

^ I agree. It's just random. Wouldn't Gandolfini be leading. I hoping to see it this weekend so maybe I'm wrong but that's how the trailer shows his character. Jared Leto will most likely get it anyway.

Look I love Meryl as much as the next person but I really think Amy should have been in there. I wonder if the producers will try and move her to supporting so she can go for that at the Oscars.

I would not be surprised if Best Actor goes to Bruce Dern. He won at Cannes and I know everyone loves Chiwetel but he's never won an Oscar, old school and respected. Wouldn't be surprised if Chiwetel gets the BAFTA.

"12 Years A Slave" will most likely get Cast.

^Now that you've said that about Bruce Dern I can't help but think you could end up being right. But honestly, I really hope you aren't. I know I'm quite biased in my 'votes' but really Chiwetel gave one of the most profoundly powerful performances I've seen this year, well, that I've ever seen really. I think you are right that he'll get a BAFTA at least. But come on, wouldn't it be amazing to see Chiwetel pretty much sweep all the awards??? Obviously, this is a bit of dreaming, with the voters track records and everything, but I guess a gal can dream, can't she?

I feel a bit sorry of Amy Adams, she never quite seems to get the love that she so often deserves. I'm not saying that Jennifer doesn't deserve the praise for this film (since I haven't seen it yet) but still, I was under the impression that Amy's role was much bigger then Jennifer's? Although I guess screen time isn't always equal to the impression that you make on the viewers....
