Has anyone readGossip Girl: It Had to Be You: The Gossip Girl Prequel?

I still haven't read it (I'm 4th in the line at the library) and I really want to know the real reason why Serena left. And also if the writers of the show are following the book reason or if they are doing their own thing.

If the book reason is like "OMFG WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT" then I hope the writers use it.

I need to get the book before April 21st.

Taylor Momsen, aka Jenny Humphrey, and new cast member Jesse Swenson shoot scenes for their hit TV show Gossip Girl in New York City on Monday morning.

Gossip Girl returns with all new episodes on April 21, when one of the male characters on the show will be revealed as gay. I don’t think it’s the new guy, btw.

Swenson was a theatre major at Boston Conservatory. He’s currently an understudy for the Broadway musical Spring Awakening as the character Melchior Gabor (Jonathan Groff originated the role since its Broadway debut in Dec. 2006).

It's that Nate or Dan? I heard that Nate(or Dan, I'm not sure) will be gay in the end, according to the novel.

Jenny's outfit with the white tights is horrid! She is so trying to be Blair (and failing I might add!)

Chuck is as hot as ever Poor Blair looks so upset in that one with her and Serena.

I'm even more excited for the new season now! Thanks frenchy!

now that Blair isn't 'Queen B' and Jenny is the new Blair, how all of a sudden can she afford to dress like Blair..

exactly! that is really bugging me too, it just makes no sense at all, especially because in the show they really like to point out about the 'class' difference between Jenny and the rest of her friends at school ALL the time, so all of a sudden it's disappeared?

Well Jenny has the personality maybe...it's more than just the clothes. She did slowly become a more developed character and showed how swift she was especially during the sleep over.

I mean no one made a big deal about the fact that Carrie Bradshaw was just a writer but she somehow owned 100 pairs of Manolos and Jimmy Choos...not to mention a major designer wardrobe. It's a fantasy...

I'm not surprised it didn't get very good ratings, I haven't seen any advertising for it at all, and even the site didn't give a date for it starting, just a vague "coming soon". I only happened to see it mentioned in the Guardian's Guide last week, so I knew when it would be on.

I saw it advertised loads but i had no idea what it was all about. The advert was very raunchy & i thought ok that's not my kind of thing, but then reading this thread I thought I'd give it a go. I've got to say (&I love the US dramas), I wasn't overly impressed with Ep 1, it was all a bit teeny & predictable (but maybe I'm getting old at 24 lol). I will watch again tomorrow though - i do love the style & fashion
