^^^ I’ll make a note to always avoid areas with fireplaces when I’m with you LOL (Thanks for that bit of revelation about emo-Aaron… Googling the pics, you can absolutely see the physical potential of what’s to come tho…I mean— maybe not the grisly, redneck, “dirt-under-the-fingenail strutting overdose of macho he was in NA, but I’ve been keeping an eye on him since that coma-inducing Godzilla movie he was in. There's just something about Aaron.)

And you are absolutely right: Irreversible is as much a hopeless love story as it is a display of the unleashed rage of unbridled violence that that love can possess over one. Only a mastermind could possibly tow that delicate line between the two tones. Monica is so incredible. This woman consistently stars in projects that relentlessly propel and punish both her and her audience.

vetements: I tend to think of all these basic jump-scared riddled offerings to the horror genre the equivalent of people like Shayne Oliver, Virgil, Jerry Lorenzo are to fashion: Shallow, predictable, basic, reductive but all too easy to understand for the younger generation. I’d recommend cleansing your system of that garbage with Roman’s Rosemary’s Baby.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - For its subject matter it was so well written and yet problematic. I love Frances performance though, it truly was written for her.

I, Tonya - Fun! Fell a few steps short of being the worldly film it wanted to be.

Lady Bird - Had its moments and I'm sure there are a lot of people who can relate to the narrative but I just wasn't one of them. In the Greta Gerwig universe I still preferred Frances Ha.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer - Good but also a miserable viewing experience. So, I guess Yorgos Lanthimos did his job properly? Also features a random appearance from Alicia Silverstone.

Also...that new(ish?) Godzilla animated movie on Netflix. So OTT
