Kiss Kiss Bang Bang......quite a strange concept, but entertaining nonetheless, with great performances from Robert Downey Jnr, Michelle Monaghan and a very funny Val Kilmer, would should appear in more comedies on this evidence.

Mediterraneo.......very charming.

Interiors (1978) - been trying to work my way through some of Woody Allen's oeuvre for the movie challenge and this is one I had never seen before. Wow! First off, it's straight up drama. No comedy. Secondly, the art direction - the interiors, ha, and the clothing - and the cinematography are striking. Thirdly, he was inspired by Bergman and so the film can come off pretentious at times, but given that I like Bergman, and I don't mind when characters talk to analysts and get all existential, it didn't bother me too much. :p The film is truly striking, above all, to look at (the drowning/near-drowning scene is quite stunning), but the tragedy in it is heartfelt. Great performances by both Geraldine Page (wow again - in the Sylvia Plath-like scene, I was gobsmacked by the quiet horror) and Maureen Stapleton, who plays Page's foil and who is the only character in the film who wears colour and strays from an otherwise beige/gray/brown/ecru palette. It's clear why she wears colour too. Very good film and quite unlike most other Allen films. I mean, it has many of his themes, but there is no music, whatsoever, and it is so tragic. No witty repartee. Just a family with issues. It's not for everyone, but I loved it.
