Shame - the glass, mirrors, TVs, cool colours, and hard surfaces make up the ideal production design for this film about 2 very damaged people. Someone so desperate. It's a really sad film.

I just watched Hunger, too, which is what brought me to this film. I think Hunger is more artful, in a way, but both are brutal and stunning. Fassbender's gone out on a limb in both. Quite!

Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry - A good insight into a fascinating man. Doesn't focus so much on his art, but more on his confrontation with the Chinese government. Definitely highlighted for me the way social media like Twitter has helped those speaking out against oppression to have their voices heard.

Free Men (Les Hommes Libres) - Covers an aspect of the WWII German occupation of France that I hadn't really heard about before: Muslims helping Jews escape the Nazis. Sadly the film only reaches mediocre heights. I get the feeling there is a really great film to be made with this story.

Perfect Sense - Sci-fi/love story set mainly in Glasgow as the world's population mysteriously begin to lose their five senses one by one starting with the sense of smell. Intriguing concept not always executed perfectly but will make you think.
