We can't really take much from it since we don't even know how it was compiled... did they just ask people for a name off the top of their head, or did they have them choose from a list?? Either way they were limiting people to either their memory or evian's preliminaries.

By the standard of that list, we all have a chance of featuring on a future edition do we ever become famous.

In hollywood. Have you totally forgotten that the biggest film industry in the world is not Hollywood, but Bombay (cunningly named bollywood)

And just because there are more of them, doesn't make them more beautiful.
Funny how Aishwarya Rai, who was voted the most beutiful woman of all time in another of these silly lists isn't mentioned on this list. She won Miss world for crying out loud.

And Helen of Troy should be on this list, after all, they fought a whole bleedin battle over her looks. :P

Exactly what I was thinking AhhhGucci. Chinese film industry is also huge and Lucy Lui was the only Asian on the list. I find it almost insulting considering that most of the world's population is not white. Stupid list.

Re-reading the list, I am stunned that so-so looking people like Kirsten Dunst , Kim Catrall, and Sandra Bullock are on this list while Elizabeth Hurley is not!!!

That's because this list revolves around Hollywood actresses, not those of any other film industry. And the vast majority of them aren't of ethnic minorities.
So they basically worked from the pool they had.

And the pool they have to work with? How bout The Most Beautiful Woman Of All Time That means hollywood actresses, doesn't it.

As for majorities and ethnic minorities. Beauty isn't a statistic, the most beutiful woman isn't the majority, she is a minority in herself.

That's why this list isn't at all logical. I've seen many more random women who are thousands of times more beautiful than Jennifer Aniston, for example. The thing is, the people who compiled this list hadn't ever seen that random person. They need to select recognizable North American actresses so that they can make themselves a profit. That's why US Vogue keeps putting the same women on their covers over and over. It's been proven to sell, and that's what they care about.

is she? but an american citizen. the point i was trying to make is that they wouldve put a plastic bleached blonde playboy playmate at #1 because bizarely enough they find that appealing.
the ppl from bollywood etc arent recognised the world over, the women on this list are so obviously they're only going to have the known ppl on the list, i bet the ppl compiling the list only knew these big namers.

yea unfortuantley most actresses are caucasion so obviously theyre gonna hold reigns on the list, thats just the way it is at the moment in time.

this list was compiled by a panel of "experts" in Britain, so its not like the world voted on it just the brits. I dont think I wouldve liked to have seen a list compiled only by Americans though, they'd put some1 like Pamela Anderson at the top and I'm sure there would be a lack of forgeiners on it! Hey everyone, I was posting in a different topic, and just thought I should try to start a new thread that has everyone list their top 5 Most Beautiful Women. This can be celebs/stars/actresses etc.

Here is my list: This is constantly changing, and not in ranking..just top 5...

1. Nicole Kidman
2. Charlize Theron
3. Ashley Judd
4. Kate Beckinsale
5. Elizabeth Hurley

Any one of them I would rather look like! They are soo beautiful!
