Audrey has been voted most beautiful woman ever!

Here is an article I've just read from Australian's national 9 news website!

Film legend Audrey Hepburn was named the most naturally beautiful woman of all time by a panel of experts.

Three Australians featured in the first 10 out of 100 beauties, actress Cate Blanchett, who came in third, singer Natalie Imbruglia and model Elle MacPherson. (YAY for us aussies, I knew we were gorgeus girls! :P )

Princess Diana came in 12th.

Hepburn, the star of Roman Holiday and Breakfast At Tiffany's, topped the poll of beauty editors, make-up artists, fashion editors, model agencies and fashion photographers who were asked to choose their top 10 beauties from the list of 100 compiled by the drinks firm Evian.

The women were chosen for their "embodiment of natural beauty, healthy living, beautiful on the inside and out, with great skin and a natural glow to their personality, as well as their complexion", Evian said.

Hepburn was joined in the top five by current US film star Liv Tyler, Blanchett, Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and the fifties icon turned princess Grace Kelly.

"Audrey Hepburn is the personification of natural beauty," said Elle beauty director Rosie Green.

"She has a rare charm and inner beauty that radiates when she smiles. Her skin looks fresh in all her films and her personality really shines through as someone warm and lively."

More than 76 per cent of the beauty experts who voted in the survey mentioned Hepburn in their top 10.

The survey also showed that while 32 per cent of the icons placed in the number one spot by panel members were blondes, 22 per cent redheads and 46 per cent brunettes.

"People who are confident without a scrap of make-up and look healthy, happy and glowing, seem like natural beauties to me," Eleonore Crompton, of Heat magazine.

I'm just WOW for 3 aussies being in the top 10 list of the worlds most beautiful women ever, pretty good for a country with a tiny population!!!
AND I'[m so glad Hepburn was at the top of the list, she is the epitome of beauty!

I could not disagree more! I know everyone loves Audrey Hepburn, and while I will agree, she is quite beautiful on the outside, I don't think she's the most beautiful. I'm guessing that the inner beauty definitly won out in the polls.

All these types of lists will both earn criticism and praise because BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. And basically we have our own different tastes when it comes to beauty.


Though I can understand Audrey at #1, but Liv at #2? And Jennifer Aniston over Marlene Dietrich? Or Cameron Diaz over Gisele? Or Keira Knightly over Iman? :dizzy:

some of these lists are better researched than others - it must be a truism that Audrey Hepburn is one of the most beautiful women ever but absolutely arguable whether Jennifer Aniston or Kim Catrell is....?
