Best Miss Ukraine ever and best result ever. Extremely proud of Olesya. She did so well and looked beyond gorgeous. Considering Ukraine hadn't even been in the Top 10 up till last year, now two consecutive Top 5 placements, including one Runner Up is darn well I'd say.
missology
tbh, Angola wasn't Miss Universe material, but since MU hasn't had a "black" winner in a very long time, i guess it made sense to choose her.
I agree
BTW, was it just me or the crowd was being more suportive with Miss Angola that with Miss Brazil?
I wanted Miss Ukraine to get the crown, but after Miss Brazil was sent off, I thought this is a done deal, Miss Angola is going to be the winner.
P.s. Isabeli's question was funny/not the most inteligent question ever asked. But I don't know if the judges themselves formulated the questions, or if the production wrote the questions.
I may not agree that Leila Lopes was the most beautiful (in terms of beauty contest) of this year`s candidates, but I am happy with the facts she hasn`t had any plastic surgery and is 25 y.o. already, it brings certain maturity. She has interesting face, but her body proportions aren`t the most ideal...
I am a little bit disappointed Finnish girl didn`t made it to the final, but got to be honest, her outfits were nothing comppared to her fellow competitors. For once, when the girl herself is gorgeous, both body- and face-wise.
My bet's on Mexico. Maybe not the most beautiful overall, but she's a well-rounded contender. Poland or South Africa may take the title by stealth - how long has it been since a blonde won Miss Universe, huh?
That was the most unhappy I've ever been with a winner since Riyo Mori in 2007. I mean, you had Australia, Philippines, South Africa, Mexico, AND YOU CHOOSE USA? I guess Donald Trump's in some kind of national investment this time around.

That was a really strong final five. I thought Philippines would take it because everything seemed aligned in her favor and she had a winner's aura about her. Plus, that country hasn't won the title in decades. A few of the other competitors had some noticeable bobbles or just good but not great interview answers.... I'm sure the winner will do great though.
