^Me neither. I will have to wait until I see the episode to decide for sure.

^Same here. Her performance could go either way.

I think the FACTS of the situation mean more than just what David thinks is going on, because he said himself it feels like he's had two lifetimes, one with each woman--somewhere, DEEP down, a part of him recognizes his fidelity lies with Snow aka Mary Margaret, his real wife, despite his fake memories of Kathryn. He's unconciously following the truth of the situation, not the "truth" that the curse has forced onto him. But, again, I trust it will all work out in the end. I agree with LUXXX--it's the change-ups like this that add some interest to the concept of the show.
Yes, it does because that's what he knows. Obviously, we will never agree on this point. It's like asking "if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

As for the change-ups, sure it makes the stories unpredictable. But what I always enjoyed about fairy tales was the romanticised perspective. Taking the fairy tales and making them more "real" is interesting, but not if it becomes too "real", that is, TV reality where adultery is a common trope. That's just my POV.

I remain unconvinced about casting EDR for Belle. She looks terribly miscast.

^I guess you're right, advo--agree to disagree!

My main point was that the real facts of the situation--Snow and Charming are married, curse prevents them remembering--are what the two characters are instinctively following. I don't like that they even think they're cheating either, but we'll see what the writers do. Episode 13, the one after the next one with Belle, is Prince Charming-centric and I have a feeling it's going to be big for that storyline.

As for Emilie, will reserve judgement until after seeing the ep.

Tonight's episode was my favorite thus far! Belle has always been my favorite fairy tale character so tonight's twist on "Beauty and the Beast" took it to another level.

Will there be more episodes about Belle's story line in the future? It will be very interesting to see what happens when Rumple learns that she is in fact...alive in Storybrook. Especially since he has now told the Queen that he knows his past identity...

The new episode was fantastic! I loved the twist on the "Beauty and the Beast" story!

-Emilie de Ravin was great as Belle. I was happily surprised.
-The way Chip (the teacup) was integrated into the story was very clever.
-Robert Carlyle is perfect as Mr.Gold/Rumplestiltskin. I love how he makes you feel compassion for his character.
-Mr.Gold reveals to the mayor that he indeed knows he is Rumplestiltskin.
-The ending was very interesting! Belle is in Storybrooke and is being held in the hospital in a padded cell by the mayor (aka Evil Queen). I wonder what will happen if Mr.Gold finds out. I hope that it will mean a continuation of Belle's storyline.

I can't wait for next weeks episode.

It says in upcoming episode 14, Emilie De Ravin guest stars. So Belle's storyline will continue!

Also, I wonder how Ariel from The Little Mermaid will be incorporated into the show since the Queen brought up her name to Rumple in last night's episode.

Just like everyone here, I too have enjoyed this episode very much.

-The one part of the storyline that threw me off was the fact that Belle's father was a king and, not an inventor.
-I was very happy with Emilie's performance. She earned her roll as Belle. I'm surprised she stuck with her Australian accent.
-No dancing dishes. Very disappointing.
-So, is Storybrooke's Belle suppose to be a mental patient with real mental problems, or did they just throw her in there?
-Did any one catch the side of the flower van? "Game of Thorns"

Next Episode: "What Happened to Frederick"

-There's an old article from last Nov. saying that Joanna Garcia may (or may not) be playing Ariel. If she is...then, I wish her luck on trying to pull it off.
-I thought the actress with the platinum hair was supposed to be (a prettier version of) Ursula and, not just a siren.

Last night's episode was by far the best imo. I am so glad that I chose to watch the show as oppose to tuning in to the Grammy's (although I did catch the tail end of that show). Anyways, I'm sure its been said before but Robert Carlyle is amazing!

Snap! So now we know that Rumple is well aware of who he is and The Queen knows that he actively trying to break the curse. I wonder if his favor of Emma will have something to do with Belle.

I wonder if that creepy nurse watching over her is Ursula.

Also, I'm sorry, but I felt bad for Gaston in this version! He didn't seem like a bad guy and he even came after her and was willing to fight. It didn't ring true to me that he was supposed to be "the bad, superficial guy."

Such an amazing episode!! Now I'm looking forward to Rumble and Belle together more than Snow and Prince Charming.
Belle has always been my favorite princess ever and Emilie did a good job after all

GLAD to see all the love for last night's ep! I enjoyed it so much too! I agree that Emilie was quite good and well cast, and more importantly, that storyline has a LOT of future potential. AMAZED at the fact that they revealed to the Evil Queen that Rumple remembered--I suspected he did but the fact that she knows is interesting. Love the inclusion of Chip too! Very sweet.

I am looking forward to next week's ep SO much--the Mary Margaret/David storyline center stage is always a good thing. (I will be getting frustrated at the whole "cheating" thing if the writers drag it out forever, though.)

It's amazing how love can be someone's "Achilles's heel", even for someone as "powerful/evil" as Rumple. But that's why I like him, he actually has flaws based on the stories on how he got his power & "lost" his son and now his "love" for Belle.

Can't wait for the following 2 weeks episode when Belle makes a re-appearance!

This weeks episode was fantastic! It was so interesting how they made Rumple the "beast" and Belle was his true love. On one hand I loved it but I'm not going to lie I was a little grossed out when they kissed. I think it's the age difference really. Emilie played Belle perfectly and I can't wait to see how this storyline plays out. Mr. Gold is going to freakout when he finds out that she's been locked away. The EQ is quite something... I never know what to expect. Like others have said, I really love how the writers of OUAT create interesting characters and give them more then one side to their story.
