I loved Lord of the Rings ... another rare example of movies being better than the books.

But ... I did not love Princess Bride ... I was unamused by its logical flaws.

i wholeheartedly agree! we're all missing romance itself, not just romantic movies.

i think that there should be a thread about underrated movies, not overrated...
cos, many many movies r made, but only a few have some sort of point... or simply that they r not boring...

like many ppl haven't seen Velvet Goldmine, and that movie is like my top 3 movies of all time... music is great, actors r great and we get to see another side of the glam rock... plus, ewan mcgregor and JRM r singing all songs for real, which is a big plus for me... and for those who haven't seen it, well it is a story about glam rock, and how it died... u can recognize bowie's and iggy pop's influence... but it is not a movie for homophobics!!!

a movie doesn't have to be romantic to make u feel that way... call me stupid or shallow, but everytime i watch nine and a half weeks, i cry...
i know it is cheap erotic drama, and all that, but the moment when adorable mickey says 'please come back till i count to 50'... well it rips my heart out... ... i even cried when i watched a weird comedy The Secretary with James Spader... It is kind of a sick movie, but it brings out emotions... u know like 'love lift us up where we belong...'

and Moulin Rouge... well... ... although it is a simple, many times seen love story, it brings hope that there is a reason for living...

and it is simply LOVE...
oh i feel so romantic now...

Basically all the Hollywood films today which are said to be "new classics".
we have the exact opposite taste in films because those are among my favourites.

Lord of the Rings, King Kong (the remake) - not a fan of Peter Jackson's work, I have to say.

Oh and anything that stars Tom Cruise, can't stand the man!

I canīt stand the man either but heīs done some pretty good things; Rain man, Jerry mcguire. I really donīt know what happened to him. He used to be very nice and likeable but somehow heīs manage to become a freak.

I'll probably change my mind after the second viewing but Donnie Darko confused the heck out of me
