^ Same here. I wasn't planning to see it until I found out the identity of the Wicked Witch of the West. In most cases spoilers make the person not want to see a movie but in this instance it's the opposite for me! Now I REALLY want to see it!
P.S. - Don't google it! Don't spoil the film for yourself.
I think Disney had a mammoth task in filming this with such restrictions due to MGM owning the rights to the original movie and it's contents such as the famous ruby slippers and also the Wicked Witch of The West' skin tone which both they were not permitted to use, so I think taking that into account it's admirable that they were able to produce something so visually stunning.
I think it'll be a box office hit since it will attract a large audience of a varied age range.
I'm incredibly excited to go and see this once it hits the cinema.

^ Whoa I didn't know what about the shoes and skin colour. That's a really interesting fact.
I can't wait to see this. I love the Wizard of Oz. I've seen Wicked twice in NY. The costumes are gorgeous. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a Oscar nom for them.

Unfortunately, the same friend I mentioned above told me the spoiler. I kept yelling for her to shut up, but nevertheless I heard it. But it did make me more interested as well.
Oh...random question, has anyone else noticed that the TV trailers for "Oz" use the exact same trailer music as the last few "Harry Potter" movies? I noticed because Im a Potter nerd, but I guess it's not that surprising since trailer music is recycled all the time. But I also think they're using it subliminally to attract Potter fans. Considering the film features wizards and witches, it would make sense for them to appeal to the Potter crowd (which is a large variety of ages, ethnicities, etc) because that would mean hella success.
Just an observation.

I'm a Harry Potter nerd and I didn't notice the trailer music. Until the last two movies, I never watched the trailer as I was excited without it so maybe I'm not the best judge.
The reviews are out and Weisz and Rachel are described as giving the best performances with Franco a bit behind. Kunis allegedly gives the weakest performance. Overall it's getting mixed reviews.
