It wasnt compulsive televsion but it surpassed my expectations. Some innovative and good designs, and what a prestigious panel of Judges. I loved it when Isabella Blow said "are you trying to turn us on?". Giles seems very insightful and intellectual but i have taken a disliking to him..he doesnt seem very personable. The standard of the designers definatley needs some tweaking, but there is tremendous potential.

Episode 1 pics!

Well I couldn't get any pics uploaded onto Sky.co.uk so I took the matter into my own hands and just took screencaps. The quality is a bit terrible but you get the idea. These were taken off the first episode where the brief was to create a garden party dress using only materials from a garden centre.

Have also included a quote from each designer about their design.

What I have come up with is a kind of sculptural form and that’s what I’m interested in.

I think played it safe but I’m quite glad that I played it safe.

I was inspired into doing a kinda Victoriany big bum kinda ruffles.

All pics screencapped by myself.

Everyone said it was really nice so I was quite confident.

Usually I’m backstage dressing models – complete chaos so to sit down and see it all happen – it was really really good.

It might be one day that someone says ‘You’re the girl that made the skirt out of the turf!’ and I’ll say ‘Yes, that was me!’

They might think it’s a hideous plastic bag with a couple of holes in it - and a hinge!

I have combined some architecture with some other particular pattern cutting technique that I have learnt – and I have made it my own.

I don’t think it was the right project to experiment. I don’t want to be eliminated on the first show.

All pics screencapped by myself.

Shakeel, (not sure what he does or how old he is!?)

I have changed my design twice. Let’s see how far it goes.

I was thinking of an ancient Greek garden statue, who comes to life and disguises herself and gatecrashes the garden tea party.

It will be interesting if they completely trash it or say it’s amazing.

Kirsty was the one who actually won the challenge. Rami was eliminated because none of the judges bought all his conceptual talk.

I personally thought Matthew, Gemma and Christopher's were the best though Kirsty had some really interesting details on her dress.
I thought overall, considering they only had garden centre materials to use, they did a pretty good job.

This week's ep (just aired tonight) was less successful - will post caps when I get the time!

Ok...so I must be the ONLY PERSON in the WORLD watching this show but unfortunately we don't have Project Runway so we will have to make do with Project Catwalk!

Here's all the screencaps from the second episode. The challenge was to come up with something that was 'frisky' (another word for sexy I suppose) that had their 'signature style' on. The challenge was set by Frost French designers Sadie and Jemimma.

Overall, I liked all the designs better last week with the garden centre materials! Some of these are just horrendous:

Christopher

Debi (this is just disgusting...... )

Gemma (fast becoming my fave one out of the bunch!)

Kirsty (Kinda looks like the same dress as last time)

Lesley (Beautiful design....but is it frisky?)

Marianne (Another atrocity)

Matthew (he won the challenge....one of my faves as well!)

Renato (terrible design....makes the girl look pregnant!)

Shakeel (a bit blah really....)

Sushino (again...a bit safe and blah)

Zoe (she was eliminated in the end....I actually don't mind this at all)

All pics screencapped by myself.

I'm watching it too. They need to cut like four people who are just plain baad.
I liked the first designs but this wasn't as good, 2-3 good designs only.

^Yay! I'm not the only one! Yes...there are some ppl who are really good, but others who are just awful. I thought the quality would be more consistent....but I think I need to see more to make a final judgement.
