A step up this week with the designs, I thought. From last week, anyway. Debi made a great turnaround after last week's 'frisky' garment. We really don't see enough of the clothes though. Thought Christopher should have been in the top 3, definitely over Matthew's coat.

Not many other people watching this at the moment, then?

^I agree! I'm glad she could show julian what she can do

i LOVED when julian was going on about matthew's design being boring and matthew was sayin, "well the brief was..." and the babour guy stood up for matthew (matthew's so cute )

Oh god I hate that julian mcdonald. He doesn't look like a designer at all! He looks like one of those creepy, pervy gay guys that went pver-board on the st.tropez. Am I right??

I'm also glad sushino's gone. HE really took up a lot of the show ciz he's so flamboyant and, "waa! look at me!" We've had enough of the uber-camp reality gays...

(I may come accross homophobic at the moment, but I'm gay, so I'm allowed :P)

(everyone I know is watching it! we're hooked!)

and then in the interview she was like... I drafted a pattern, I made a toile, bla, bla, bla... (it's still crap)

And then she won!!

Julien McDonald looks like he's about to OD on whatever Oompa-Loompa medication he's on.

^Haha....so true! I wish they'd get Giles Deacon back who actually gave CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

Julien MacDonald is only there for a) the free publicity, b) the nominal fees that Sky One pays him so that he can get more sessions at the tanning salon and c) the enormous egotisical, manic power trip.

More pics from last week's episode. Honestly, I seriously feel like the only one who's engrossed in this show!

The brief was to design an outfit for Barbour (an English country label that makes functional clothing - wellies, coats, riding gear etc.)
http://www.barbour.co.uk (If you REALLY wanna check out their range )
But the outfit would be for someone who lived and worked in the city. I think this was a REALLY tough challenge. To design something that specific AND also inject your own sense of style and individuality.

However, I think all the designers came up trumps and designed really decent outfits.

Christopher (my personal fave atm):

Debi (who did a 180 turnaround from nearly getting eliminated to winning the challenge - her design didn't really blow me away though but I suppose that wasn't the point)

Gemma (all the judges hated this outfit but I thought it was really cute)

Kirsty (a very interesting design - it's like a deconstructed trench coat)

Lesley (the pics are terrible but the jacket and the shirt underneath is incredibly beautiful - I just love the shape of it)

Marianne (Very funky with all the straps but is it functional?)

Matthew (The most sellable garment IMO - def. something everyone could wear)

Renato (my least favourite outfit - I just...don't...get...it)

Yes...that is indeed a horse hair tail sticking out of her arse.

Shakeel (I loved this as well - it's a coat that is made up of 5 pieces that can be detached to make a jacket - originality and functionality)

Sushino (I'm surprised they kicked him off so early since reality shows love to keep the flamboyant characters on as long as possible - it really was a tough brief for him but I don't really like or dislike this outfit - just nothing special)

All pics screencapped by myself.

Yes...I cringe everytime she says 'Fashion has no mercy'

Do you mean Julien MacDonald AKA the guy who's been tangoed one too many times?

The winner was Marianne tonight. But I thought Christopher's design was more 'Kelly'.
