I wonder if meeting Patrick Cox was worth going out of the competition for . Although to be fair, I don't know if an additional 3 hours from you instead of Matthew could have put your dress above Matthew's. I suppose you admitted yourself that that wasn't the best decision.

To be honest, I didn't like any of the stuff this week, because I didn't like the theme at all.

Oh cool, hi lesely! thank's for the input!

Those group challenges are so unfair! I was fuming... Matthew should have gone last week. I was shocked to hear he didn't add ease, I'm only doing a 1year city & guilds course in fashion design and I even know to add ease!

He would have been better as the designer, IMO. As he didn't have the sufficient skills to fulfill your vision. You would have almost been better off without him. It was the look of the draw that you got him.

But in saying all that, I'm rather looking forward to looking at him some more next week

Group Challenges

Yes I had a bum draw, but that just about puts it all into perspective - it was a game, and I lost. I wasn't too sad about it though, life is a MUCH bigger picture and it was an experience that I enjoyed, very much.

I've been told that Matthew gets a lot more help with his garments, in terms of technical stuff, than is shown on the show. And I mean more by the other designers here.

That's real life, I suppose. But in a competition, at such an early stage of the show, it rankes that Lesley, Christopher, and Marianne are forced to gamble on a 1/3 chance of being eliminated despite having the best proposals that Kelly Osborne liked while Matthew skated by without repercussions despite being the weakest link. It just doesn't feel right or fair to me!
You're right, of course, but I was safe for the other challenges. Ben de Lisi, who's a very nice guy, loved all my creations. Elizabeth referred to my 'frisky' dress as the 'Valentino number' and the 'Barbour' was referred to as something that might come out of Alexander McQueen's studio.

I wanted to step up the next challenge and create something with my typical tongue in cheek humour, and Kelly Osborne's press release said 'if you thought that Kelly doesn't give a damn about what people think of her, you'd be right'..... clearly, I was led right up the garden path about that one!

The Barbour episode hinted at this when they showed Ben sigh in exasperation and pick up a scissors after Matthew said that he didn't know what to do. I enjoyed looking at Matthew but I ended up wondering how much of his Barbour red coat was Ben's idea!

I noticed that too! Ben's input is unfair at times... Like someone already pointed out; didn't he tell one of the girls to use the organza in a certain way, I kinda remember that. He basically "designed" the dress for her, his help or suggestions were a bit too helpful and "suggestive."

OH, Lesley... what was the white thing made from on the skirt of your garden party dress. that was brilliant...

Welcome to TFS Lesley! Such a shame you had to go just cos of that one dress as your earlier designs were lovely. I thought it might've been Shakeel instead but that's the way the cookie crumbles I suppose. How are your kiddies btw? they looked adorable on the show. All the best to you in your life & career.

Wow, hi lesley! You were great on the show, I really didn't feel you should have left last week. I understand the challenge was about working in teams but it seemed to me a shame that the owner of one of the top 3 designs had to leave, it just seemed not to make sense to me.

And, where did this thread come from! I've been dying to natter!

^ your not the only one! i love it so much, although i cant remember any of the names i thought the kelly o. was stupid last time, i think she was a really hard person to design for, it would have been so much better if it was erin to design for...and i dont think the group idea was too good...

Yeah...especially since they all have such defined ideas. I think it's incredibly difficult to get ppl to 'get' your vision in such a short amount of time.

Although I'm not exactly the biggest Kelly fan but it was interesting seeing whether they could design with more flesh in mind! If they're gonna be working at Topshop, it goes up to size 16 no? Im seriously addicted to te show, last week I was supposed to be going out but stayed in, ate chocolate and watched it!
