And let's not forget the penalty denied to Ronaldo, Di Maria's missed shot etc. I just wish we didn't play so badly in the first half. The referee was really awful too.

yeah, and Real has a big advantage there. They almost have it in the bag... but their inconsistency scares me.

¡O le le, O la la, ser del Barça és el millor que hi ha!

maybe not the best refereeing, (i couldn't watch the whole game, DAMN WORK) but at the Emirates Arsenal were heavily favored too.

own goal by Busquets, WTF
arsenal could not score to save themselves
all they needed was one goal to advance,
they should have attacked more than just sit back and defend.
Valdes was virtually a spectator throughout most of the match.
Almunia on the other hand,
kept out a couple of screamers.

Barça, Barça, Barça!

The Barca vs Arsenal match was a tough one to watch. Arsenal didn't have the best of luck with Szczesny coming off injured and Robin van Persie getting a red card. I think if Robin van Persie had been on the pitch for the entire match then Arsenal could have scored. Arsenal didn't have the best game and played a very defensive one, which is not that surprising considering how good Barca is. It would have been nice though if Arsenal could have created better opportunities to score and attacked a lot more. It's a tough thing to do against Barca especially at the Nou Camp.

I don't think Arsenal were just sitting back and defending. Yes, they were playing a much more defensive game then they usually do but they had limited possession of the ball. When they did get the ball they tried to attack but they just couldn't do that much with it.

I think Barca will win the CL now.

just an awful red card decision. usually i'm a bit sympathetic to referees having done a bit of it myself (though not to anywhere near as high a level) but you understand why managers and players get so angry. months, even years of hard work can be undone in an instant by an overzealous guy with a whistle. Just a horrible decision and I've never been impressed by Busacca's refereeing in European games.

Sure, we were being outplayed but at that stage of the match we were winning, and then we were dealt a blow that didn't just ruin our shape and strip us of an attacking outlet, but dealt a psychological blow as well (while conversely, Barcelona were surely boosted). It's impossible to say what would've happened if Robin stayed on but I think it would've been very close if he was still on the pitch.

We don't get a lot of sympathy when we dominate possession in England but don't come up with the goals to match. Barcelona didn't have a meaningful shot at goal for about 27 minutes, and they didn't create too much before the sending off, either. We were defending really well up until that point but the sending off shook us a little bit.

Lyon seem to be Real Madrid's achilles heel but I think Real Madrid will beat Lyon and make it to the quarter final. They have the talent and they'll have a big home advantage.

I think Chelsea will make it through too.
