What Films Are You Looking Forward To?
The Rum Diary
directed by Benicio Tel Doro
starring Benicio Tel Doro, Johnny Depp, Josh Hartnett, Nick Nolte
Based on Hunter S. Thompson's classic The Rum Diaries is about love, treachery and lust amid the palm tree-lined setting of San Juan, Puerto Rico, in the 1950s.

The Constant Gardener
directed by Fernando Meirelles (City of God)
starring Ralph Fiennes, Rachel Weisz
An adaptation of John Le Carre's novel, this is the story of a British diplomat (Ralph Fiennes) in Kenya whose wife is murdered alongside a local medical campaigner, with whom she was traveling on a bush trip. Amid rumors of his wife's infidelity, the diplomat is jerked out of his passive complacency and driven to uncover the conspiracy behind her death. Le Carre's novel is a scathing indictment of the influence of Western pharmaceutical companies in the Third World. Weisz will play the feisty wife to Fiennes' complacent British diplomat. Huston would take on the role of a fellow diplomat who falls for Weisz's character.

Factotum
directed by Bent Hamer (Kitchen Stories)
starring Marisa Tomei, Matt Dillon
This is an adaptation of Charles Bukowski's novel, a drama that centers on a jack-of-all-trades wandering around Los Angeles trying to live off jobs which don't interfere with his primary interests - women, drinking, gambling and writing.

American Pastoral
directed by Phillip Noyce
starring Jennifer Connelly, Daniel-Day Lewis, Paul Bettany
This is based on Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. "Pastoral" focuses on Seymour "Swede" Levov, a legendary high school athlete and devoted family man who is living the American dream in thriving, triumphant postwar America. Swede's picture-perfect life unravels when he must face the harsh reality that his beloved daughter Merry has become a revolutionary terrorist bent on destroying everything he has valued in the life he has built for his family. Bettany and Connelly will play the couple Wood will play his daughter, who breaks family ranks to become an anti-Vietnam War radical and bombs a post office.

Fade Out (2005)

Starring: Milla Jovovich/Billy Bob Thornton.

Plot Outline: Thornton plays a schizophrenic screenwriter who loses his grip on reality when he starts a story mirroring his everyday life. He struggles between fiction and reality as his mind goes on a downward spiral.

I love both Billy Bob and Milla, so I'll look forward to this.

Domino (2005)

Starring: Keira Knightley/Mena Suvari.

Plot Outline: A recounting of Domino Harvey's life story. The daughter of actor Laurence Harvey turned away from her career as a Ford model to become a bounty hunter.

First and Foremost, "Memoirs of a Geisha," which is finally well on it's way.
I also want to see Phantom of the Opera and still have yet to see Closer, which I've been told was somewhat disappointing but I still want to see it, because of the cast.
