I'm 2/3 of the way through Berlin Noir by Philip Kerr. It's set in Berlin in the 1930's. It's a bit hard-boiled but it seems quite good.

I just finished reading The five people you meet in heaven. Its by the guy who wrote Tuesdays with Morrie. All I have to say is WOW. Small but powerful book. I really liked it.
