^Yeah a lot of her books do that. That's why they're all basically over 1000 pages long.
She just rambles on and on about things that aren't important to the central story and she also has a tendency to introduce useless characters and subplots. When I read the series, I found myself skipping whole sections of the books just so I could get to the point. Dragonfly in Amber and The Fiery Cross are the two worst as far useless material goes.

I'm still reading the three books I mentioned earlier...although now I'm focusing more on The Night Circus, because I really just want to finish it.

I started on The Hunger Games trilogy during the holiday and now I'm currently on 'Catching Fire', book nr 2. They're so good! Can't wait for the movie.

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

I've had a hankering to reread this book for ages. So the other day I was at the bookstore and found a copy. And I have to say it's as good as I remembered (although I didn't remember how much flowery language it had).... god I love rereading my favorite childhood books...such nostalgia.

I've never read it nor the other books in the series. But I hope to do so this year.

Right now I'm reading Vampire Academy, 1st book in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead.

^Oh definitely read Anne of Green Gables and the rest of the series. It's so good and sweet. And then after reading the book check out the movie, I haven't seen it in years but I plan on watching it after I finish the book, it's a good adaptation of a book.

During the Nazis' brutal siege of Leningrad, Lev Beniov is arrested for looting and thrown into the same cell as a handsome deserter named Kolya. Instead of being executed, Lev and Kolya are given a shot at saving their own lives by complying with an outrageous directive: secure a dozen eggs for a powerful Soviet colonel to use in his daughter's wedding cake. In a city cut off from all supplies and suffering unbelievable deprivation, Lev and Kolya embark on a hunt through the dire lawlessness of Leningrad and behind enemy lines to find the impossible.

By turns insightful and funny, thrilling and terrifying, City of Thieves is a gripping, cinematic World War II adventure and an intimate coming-of-age story with an utterly contemporary feel for how boys become men.
