^ I started reading 50 Shades of Grey out of pure curiosity because everyone's been going crazy over it. I couldn't put it down. I'm currently itching to finish it right now. I also started reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, but I'm not going to finish it because it's really not my style. I don't like the plot or the way it's written. I started The Wolf on Wall Street by Jordan Belfort, but put it down to read 50 Shades.

I can't decide if I want to give in to my curiosity and read 50 shades of grey or not

I quickly read Chicken With Plums by Marjane Satrapi and and am currently making my way through You've Got to Read This, a compilation of short stories chosen by contemporary American writers.

I want to start another book though, while I'm intermittently reading the short stories because I'd also like to be tackling something in a longer form.

^^it's an erotic Twilight fanfiction, so i wouldn't expect too much (i haven't read it yet, but even the author herself says she's not a good writer)

I just finished Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel (the English translation) and it is wonderful. I really recommend it to everyone here.

50 shades of grey the first one is kind of fun even if not really well written but it gets really lame particularly the last one, I'm surprised by the success of those books.

I was looking for a great chick-lit someone recommend me "Bet me" by Jennifer Crusie and I just loved it, read it in just 3 days it was hard to put it down, great likable and complex characters, funny and witty.

Now I'm reading The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium #2)

ACK! Thanks!

I've seen all I need to see... definitely not going to bother

Currently reading Isaac's Storm by Erik Larson about the deadliest hurricane in history... that's how they advertise the book anyway (in 1900 in Galveston Texas)

I finished the 50 Shades Trilogy in like a week. It's not very good in terms of writing style and depth, but it is a page-turner for obvious reasons. I'm reading The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and I love it! Usually I don't all that time traveling stuff, but this is very good.

The Collector - by John Fowles. This book is creepy. I was talking to someone about having read Room recently, and we were both interested in the unique use of point of view in that novel. Anyhow, she recommended this book, much older, but VERY effective in terms of perspective as well. I am not finished but it's memorable already.

I've been juggling a few books recently:

Life - Keith Richards
Kitchen Confidential - Anthony Bourdain

And just the other night, Fifty Shades of Grey. It isn't well written and obviously has zero depth, but like the others have said, it is a page turner.
