The first thought that comes to mind is how this piece captures the sensuousness and subtle interplay of dark and light - which co-mingles Alexandra's dark features against a very simple tableau. I like some of the expression and movement here. The last image (which is in my least favorite of all modeling poses - so banal...) still retains a stark ferocity in Alexandra's eyes, and is actually a lovely view of anyone I've seen do this pose. It hits on what the Armani Jeans Autumn/Winter 08 campaign does not - drawing out the freshness and warmth, as well as life out of each photo. The Armani Jeans campaign achieved one thing stylistically - it made Alexandra seem androgynous with the thick eyebrows, and shortened/subdued hair styling. But it fell flat like black and white photos do sometimes. Nonetheless, what a captivating editorial to enjoy early in 2009. Here are my hopes for the next editorial from Alexandra...that it be striking, yet inviting, and show a sense of sophistication that translates from night to day. I doubt that the splendour of the backgrounds and the seamless transition from scene to scene and hour to hour are fully captured here. One can only hope that HQs will be available soon. The theme is a bit amusing to me...it seems other girls seem to be catching all the limelight (but boring me to tears in some of the printwork), yet Alexandra is steadily working and producing phenomenal output. Girl of the Moment? Indeed.

The momentum that showed us DeBeers, St. John and Cavalli Class to end 2008 now adds Jiu Lo (apparently wrestled away from Heather Marks and Shannan Click) to the fold to embrace 2009. Congratulations, Alexandra, we couldn't be more proud!

Is this only the tip of iceberg? Does she have anything else hidden up her casually rolled up sleeve? Only time will tell.

Her book is growing and i absolutely love that. She is not just a flash-in-the pan model and i absolutely love that. I cannot wait for the Cavalli Class ad, I'm so proud of how better her career is getting, thanks for the HQ's of the events SirSunday & asmanis. Can't wait for Fashion week to roll round!
