Anna was actually more famous in Europe than in America, where she now lives (1 Fifth Avenue, the building made famous by the legendary photographer Bill King). She ruled the European runways the same time Pat Cleveland, Jerry Hall, Iman, Dalma and Kirat etc did. She only became more visible in the NY runways during the early 90s when Christy, Linda, Naomi, Cindy etc were the biggest names in modelling.
Melanie, for all her fabulousness and her unmistakable beauty, can not hold a candle to Anna's achievements as a model. I still remember seeing Anna in the NY shows under the tents in Bryant Park in the early 90s when she was well in her lates 30s or early 40s. Neither Melanie or Bessie walked in the NY shows. |
