 TEEN VOGUE. November 2005 Emanuela de Paula Move over, Gisele! Brazilian Emanuela is strutting her way to the top. Born in a small port town, Emanuela mapped out her career goals at an early age. "When I was nine I told my father, 'I want to be a model! Take me to the city. I need to see some people.'" Despite immediately booking a supermarket catalog, she didn't leave her home until this year, when Jennifer Lopez cast the newcomer in her fall runway show in New York City. "It was crazy," says Emanuela of her first big turn in the spotlight. Now, teetering on a pair of stilettos backstage at Rosa Cha, she admits to some pre-show jitters. But when the lights go up and she hits the ground strutting, it's obvious she's in her element. "I love doing the runways," she declares afterward. "I like it all!" Just don't look for her at the after-hours parties. "I have one more show tonight," she says before dashing off, "then it's home to bed!" I took an instant liking to this girl when I saw her at Kenneth Cole. Then I saw some pics I didn't like as much, but after seeing that Marie Claire ed I'm back on the Emanuela bandwagon.

Thanks for the fotolog link guys... and that's her personal fotolog (she's the one who updates the pics), very cool! That pic of her, Carol Trentini and other models having a Secret Santa at Starbucks is really cute! (Trentini had a personal fotolog as well, but apparently it's deactivated  )

For some reason, she reminds me of the girl that's playing Pochantas in that new Colin Farrel movie.
I saw her TeenVogue edit and she really did nothing for me. I'll have to see more pictures of her for her to grow on me. In the W edit, I think she's reeling her head back to far. |
