Weekend Warrior: Hilary Rhoda Bids Farewell to Summer

Hilary Rhoda is a girl about town whose style is well worth chronicling. The model took notes on her weekend wares exclusively for BAZAAR all summer. Read on for her final Labor Day-themed installment!
Road trip to the Hamptons! Friday morning, I packed up the car and headed to the beach. I don't know what it's like to have kids just yet, but I'm getting a little taste of it because these two dogs are certainly a handful! My chihuahuas, Chloe and Winnie, are so small they can both fit into one Goyard bag (thank goodness, because I wasn't about to buy two of those!). I wore a white pair of Rachel Zoe flares with one of my favorite Helmut Lang sheer t-shirts and dressed it up with a DANNIJO necklace. I packed everything up in a classic Louis Vuitton roller. I bought this luggage while I was in St. Barth's on a job while I was still in high school. My mother was traveling with me, as she always did in the beginning years of my modeling, and on a day off before the shoot we decided to do a little shopping in Gustavia. She gave me good advice that every once in a while it's okay to treat yourself to something special that you will love and use forever. I am glad I bought that with her. I always think of our fun trip to St. Barth's and the special relationship I have with my mother every time I use it.
I had a few of my close friends since high school come up to stay with me this weekend in Southampton. Before they arrived, my mom and I took a long walk on the beach as the sun was setting. The weather out there certainly let us know that fall was just around the corner. I wore some comfy Isabel Marant linen pants rolled up with a silk top from Tucker. I love how this DANNIJO necklace is elegant but still playful with little pineapples draping around the neck. My amber tinted sunglasses by Super are perfect for that transitional time of day. The different color tint is a nice change from the typical pair of black shades.
On Saturday night I had a delicious dinner with friends. Even though I'm typically very casual at the beach, I wanted to subtly spice up my look. I wore a cute Z Spoke by Zac Posen top with a sheer back and sleeves that tied at the neck. I tucked it into an Isabel Marant skirt and some grey Alexander Wang boots. I love wearing navy blue and black together. Lots of people wouldn't think to put these two colors together, but you should try it! It looks so chic.
And it's another one in the books for summer! I hope you enjoyed reading my Weekend Warrior posts as much as I did writing them! Until next year...
