I don't know about that.... I'm sure you are right on a certain level, but then again, fashion is Kate's life! It's her job to know what people are wearing, the trends, everything about fashion. Fashion is what made her. It's her past, present and future, her whole life and career. She must be reading fashion mag's all the time, whenever she has the chance, and she sees all kinds of celebs in those mag's (of all nationalities, all ages) so she would see some things and be inspired.

Well, I think in both cases, the button just fell off. How could something so stupid as a missing button be a trend? I hope neither one of those ladies (Kate or Ash Olsen) spent too much on the vest. I would pissed off if I bought a Marc Jacobs vest for $900 or whatever they cost, and the freakin' button fell off!
