I've never seen that one! Thanks. They looks so cute. Mariacarla looks like her daughter or her little monkey. Lol.

She is like a Goddess dripping in chocolate - immense bone structure, and such loud eyes... stunner!

This ad and the S/S 09 ad with only Mariacarla and Lakshmi are the exact reasons why I think that they should be the only girls in the Givenchy ads.

Whenever I go into this thread I always feel strangely proud. Which is odd but every time she does something new and ascends to the next level I just feel great. Seeing her in US Vogue is such a major deal - how long has it been since there was an Indian model there? Possibly eons ago - back with Yasmeen Ghauri, I've been reading Vogue for my entire adult life and I can count the number of minority faces I've seen on my fingers. It's sad but this is such a wonderful step. Just yesterday I was talking to my friend about the lack of diversity in this industry and what it means to look at a magazine and see someone whose beauty is in some ways indicative of your own. I would imagine that it must be exceptionally powerful for young Indian girls to look in a magazine like Vogue and see someone who represents them so elegantly.
Just my cheap two cents ![]()

^That's great! What I find interesting though is that she will be wearing Rachel Roy, whereas Riccardo Tisci invited Adriana Lima, and will be dressing Mariacarla...

She would have been perfect with Tisci, his loss though. Rachel and her will make a great pair.

Oh I'm so excited to see Lakshmi at the Met!!!
Although, I am disappointed that she won't be with Riccardo. How magnificent would it be to see Riccardo walk in with Lara, Mariacarla and Lakshmi on his arms...it would be like...the cool kids have arrived! It would be to die for.

Don't know if this was mentioned before but Lakshmi is in Vogue's weekly best dressed, attending a cocktail party hosted by Anna Wintour.

but it's possible that she might have wanted to instead represent Rachel Roy (since she's a designer of Indian origin and all)?

I hope so as well, and if he were to drop her for another model, I would pray to god it were not for Adriana Lima...imo there are so many better options. What is good though is she is diversifying her clients...working with more people should be beneficial for her career.

I doubt Riccardo has 'forgotten' Lakshmi. He doesn't strike me as a fickle designer who skips from one model to the next...he seems much more loyal to his girls. He's very much like Tom Ford or JPG in that respect.
He's not like Karl, who likes to throw away favorites like banana peels.
