Let the countdown begin: Linda turns 40 on May 10th. It's an almost unspeakable age for an iconic face that will remain ageless within the media of fashion photography. I would like to be the first to offer birthday wishes, tributes and accolades to Linda.

Happy birthday to Linda, who is (in the words of the late, great Kevyn Aucoin) -- one of the greatest legends of the fashion world.

Italian Vogue has to be given credit for such a fun and creative cover. If only US Vogue would be a little different every once in a while. And, of course, Linda looks great as ever.

and, Shanalucas, you are right: US vogue would NEVER use a cover like this, i think it's too playful for them.....what a shame.
