By no means were the previous cover gallery posts a complete compilation of Linda's covers. I do wonder if anyone has a complete cover compilation. I've exhausted my files. Hmm...what's next? Ads?

Linda is by far one of the all time classic examples of what a SuperModel should be; she is one of the women who, in part, defined the term.

There are only a very few in her class [Cheryl Tiegs, Carol Alt, Kim Alexis, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Iman, Gia and several more]. These are what models SHOULD be.

There is very little possibility that anyone starting out today will ever achieve her status, class or longevity.

Hah not many of those mentioned are in her class, and Tyra not even in her dreams. Come on, don't insult Linda like that.

BTW, all people who post in this thread, what are your favorites covers?

It's difficult to choose, but I'd say that mine are:
- UK Vogue with golden trenchcoat (I know not very fashionable nowadays, but Linda's face is amazing on it and it works great against a blue background)
- Allure from 1991 - readhead Linda in bed - pure glamour
- Vogue Korea - just very sweet
- "V" - I have a copy of this magazine - looks a bit trashy but very stylish
- German Vogue from 1992 - Linda with read leather outfit - subtly sexy and elegant
- French Glamour "Top Secret" - Linda's on the sofa - love the bright colors and Linda's stunning blue eyes
- i-D from 2004 - like the pose and the make-up
- and the Vogue UK 5 supermodels cover of course, by Peter Lindbergh from the time when he did very beautiful photographs

And to complete the cover collection, here are 4 others from my personal files. Company UK 1985, Madame Germany 1985 (where Linda's like Robert Smith's alter ego), Scene 1998 by David Bailey and Woman Spain from 1993.

Newsflash!

For those who haven't seen it yet -- Linda made the 2005 BEST DRESSED list in Vogue's January issue. Interestingly enough, the article mentioned that "Vogue's best of 2005 brought fashion to life with eclectic choices and personal dynamism." Remember Linda's electric blue shoes at November's World Women's Awards? Vogue specifically mentions Linda's fine tailored pantsuits -- and displays a photo of the pantsuit she wore (pictured below) at the Bergdorf Goodman party honoring Stefano Pilati.




Linda also wore a pantsuit to India in October to represent MAC AIDS FUND and present a check to a charity there (below).

A huge de nada...or you're welcome to all. like I mentioned before, I've got a bit of time on my hands this week and I do enjoy posting photos of Linda. I think I've actually gotten the hang of this...finally!

Ekat: That is a very difficult question...my favorites change as often as Linda changes her hair color. Now, I will go with one of your faves -- the Glamour Top Secret issue. I, too, love the colors and it all seems so natural and relaxed. Today, where it's all about long blonde hair these days, that is nice diversion to look back at. Thanks for your comments. You, too, must be a huge Linda fan to have those old issues. Are you the one who has the Linda blog? Someone had given me this info some time ago and I can't find that info anymore. Now that the Linda Evangelista Chateau and Lindadrive.com have gone belly-up, there aren't many sites with a comprehensive collection of Linda's photos left anymore.

OMIFAN9: Love that shot with the accordian! It brings to mind Linda's Italian roots. It also brings to mind an old video clip of Amber Valetta playing 'roving fashion reporter' and interviewing Linda. Linda mentions that she used to play her accordian in her basement when she was growing up. Thank you.
