Well, let's see...

American English: ee-VAN-jell-EE-stuh

Mexican Spanish: eh-BAHN-hel-EE-stah

While in Florence, I met a waitress at the Za Za trattoria on Piazza del Mercato Centrale who claims she actually waited on Linda, pronounced it as: eh-VAN-zhel-ee-stah.

I saw Kate's documentary, too, but I don't recall how they pronounced her name...how did they pronounce it there?

Thanks so much Shana They pronounced it 'ee-VAN-jell-EE-stuh' you can watch it here again. Anyway, I was really shocked when I heard it yesterday, because I watched TV weeks ago, when she was receiving the Women's World Award, they pronounced it 'ee-van-GE-listahhh' (GE like GO ) in German TV But thanks again

Rockish, I just noticed that you are from Germany...Wow! That is awesome. I think *Maximus* and myself are the only Linda fans on TFS that are residing in the US (is there anyone else?). Everyone else is from...everywhere else!

Anyway, no matter how it is pronounced, I think she has a beautiful last name. Odd enough, though, that both her mother and father are from the same town in Italy and both had the same last name before they married...but are not related.

I have it on tape, but unfortunately I don't know how I can put it on DVD (if I ever get the chance to I will do it ) This reminds me how I became an admirer of Linda, because when I saw her there on the WWA's, funny story, I remembered: "Linda Evangelista...this must be the model Bryan Adams is friends with" (because I'm a big fan of him ) and then I thought, this could be my new model obsession and now I love her

Wow this is a cool fact I didn't know that And yes, I think her last name is really beautiful...I wish I'd have such a nice one
