Mona was interviewed for a Swedish radio show, Söndag med Saman. The interview is (not surprisingly) in Swedish, but I thought perhaps one of our Swedish speaking members could give us the gist?

There are some pics from the website too that I thought you all might appreciate

the last is a thumb, so be sure to click for bigger.

If there's anyone else here from Sweden who wants to translate everything, go a head. I just picked out the big parts. My English is not the best, sorry

Anyway.. They ask her about nudity..if there's anything she refuses to do.
Her aswer is that it all depends on the people you work with, she wouldn't do a topless photoshoot with someone she didn't trust. And nothing where she's completely naked. Also she wouldn't do something vulgar, she says that naked can be beautiful but also "wow, a little too much", she wouldn't do something pornografic.

She didn't feel comfortable taking her clothes off in the begining of her career, so she was always fully dressed but now she's more comfortable and feels like she can do a topless shoot for example.

He was wondering about the see through items on the runway, that for him it would feel like walking on the street without a shirt and that it's weird that no one cares about it, not the models and not the audience. Her opinion on that matter is that it doesn't feel vulgar, that's it's not based on sex, it would be weird for her walking down the catwalk with a leather outfit and a whip in her hand. And that it feels okay with see through because, like he said, no one cares, it's not pornografic. Also she wouldn't wear, what they make her wear on the catwalk, when she doesn't work..not in the same way. I guess she means that she wouldn't show her breasts underneath a see through tank top in public.

He asked if it feels like she's showing to much of herself. That it's a little bit to intimate.
She says no..she doesn't regret anything she's done in her career. She compares modeling too being an actor/actress, doing a sexscene for example..they never play themselves. If they were offered to play themselves in a movie they probably wouldn't do it, cause it would be to personal.

Last but not least, I quote: "it's not like I'm doing Playboy, and I don't think it would happen anytime in the future either".

I think unnihosk listened to the "online exclusive" clip, it's like an outtake or whatever you call it when it's radio, that's why all the questions are about nudity

First they introduce her to the listeners the same stuff as usual blabla, and the guy is wondering what her biggest setbacks in life have been. Mona doesn't know what to answer (maybe doesn't want to get too personal), but says that professionally, it was that she became depressed living in NY and decided to move home, which obv hurt her modeling career. Coming to NY was a bit of a culture shock for a country girl and she was probably too young. She felt lonely there even though she was always surrounded by people, so she tried to focus on work but it all became "too much". It sounds like she never really liked it even though she lived there for 2.5 years.

For a while she lived next door with Madeleine Blomberg, they spent a lot of time together, but then Madeleine moved and it became like a turning point for Mona as well. She says she wasn't really depressed (but it totally sounds like she was lol), but anyway she realized that she wasn't interested in working in fashion forever and decided that maybe it was time to start planning the future. She always wanted to work with horses, it's a huge part of her life and even the reason she started modeling. And modeling has made her dream of buying a big farm possible.

...

Interviewer talks about retouching. Mona says you can't take it personally when they "fix" your photos and retouching doesn't seem to bother her (like in general, the guy tries to start a discussion about impossible ideals). She's very crass(?) about this and she doesn't think it'll change anytime soon. But she says her best pictures are actually natural, almost unretouched stuff. A bit of your personality is lost when they erase all the little flaws.

...

Mona never dreamed of becoming a model or anything like that. When she was scouted at the horse show, she thought it was a joke at first. They talk about her start in the business and the guy asks her to explain why she stopped with the "fashion, uh catwalk and stuff" She admits that agencies lie about her height and says that she's really 168-169cm. Runway was never her strength and her height was a factor, but it's hard to tell how things had gone if she was taller. Then she basically explains the procedures and stress of fashion week. Again she's very "matter-of-fact" about her job, talking about costs (flights, hotel, driver, etc) vs. what you make from walking shows and that it's physically tough as well. When she started fading it wasn't really worth it. "One day you're in and the next day you're out". She jokes about some runway mishaps and walking in too big shoes (she only wears a 37 EU and sample sizes at the shows are usually >39, I know from experience that this SUCKS :p).

End of Part 1-3 of 5(?)

It's a REALLY long interview, I'm only translating 1/10 of they say cause they talk for 30 min or more. I didn't even have time to listen to the whole thing so I'll have to continue later.

Ok here's the rest of the interview.

How modeling has changed her view of beauty. She says that before she was a typical school girl, a bit insecure and a trend follower. Working in the fashionworld has taught her to see the beauy in "ugly" things and appreciate different aesthetics. She has developed a more refined taste, I guess. Pretty normal for anyone growing up and seeing a bit of the world. What is beauty? "Being natural". She laughs because it sounds so cliché but she really prefers a natural type of beauty and when someone's personality shines through.

She never felt the pressure to stay skinny because it hasn't been a problem for her, she's naturally thin and still eats whatever she likes without gaining weight (lol but I believe her actually). No one ever asked her to lose weight and she thinks she would've quit long ago if she had to fight to stay in shape. She says it might be different if you come from a less fortunate background and admits that eating disorders is a problem, but she's staying vry politically correct (and tbh I think she still pretty naive even though she's lived the model life), nothign new or interesting is said.

...

Two turning points in her life? One was when she fell off her horse three years ago and had to stay in bed for three or four weeks. It gave her time to really think about what she wanted to do with her life. And she feels like she's heading towards a turning point right now, she's still trying to figure out exactly what direction to take, maybe she'd even like to get a "normal" job (and keep the horses as a hobby I guess).

Mona is a planner and a listmaker. It used to freak her out when she wasn't on top of things, but modeling has taught her to take one day at the time. They'll call you the night before a job and tell you to jump on a plane, dates change all the time, etc. She still prefers to know what's happening, she'd plan six months ahead if she could lol, but being more spontaneous is probably a good thing.

THE END
