B'day girl: The face of the L'Oreal Fashion Festival, Western Australia's Nicole Trunfio, has another reason to celebrate today ... her 19th birthday.

The beautiful people gather

16mar05

THE L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival began with designers and celebs hobnobbing in Fed Square's ACMI Centre.

Style gurus Alannah Hill, Joe Saba, Gwendolynne, Kit Willow, Leona Edmiston and Toni Maticevski were all there to watch a spectacular parade on Monday night.

X-Factor presenter Chloe Maxwell raised a few eyebrows when she arrived with Neighbours actor Blair McDonough.

Livinia Nixon, Jo Stanley, Cindy Sargon and Natalie Bassingthwaighte were also there among the beautiful people.

Paper round

AUSSIE export supermodel Nicole Trunfio, who is gaining an impressive reputation abroad, told a L'Oreal Paris lunch yesterday the fluorescent orange perspex runway did not faze her, but it was a tad too slippery for some of the other less-seasoned models.

The night before, Trunfio, who turns 19 today, had a little run-in with a piece of tissue during the parade.

The persistent rag made its way to the end of the catwalk and nearly all the way back stuck to Trunfio's heel before she freed herself.

To her credit, Trunfio dealt with the pest magnificently, doing her utmost to ignore it and still managing to look stunning and in control. The real deal

Nicole does seem to get a lot of catalogue work, but from my understanding, that work pays quite well.

Besides, aren't the best models those that have an easy transition between commercial and high fashion?

Isn't she 20? Her birthday is March 16, 1985 like it says on http://supermodels.nl/nicoletrunfio/

She looks so mature though, and we're the same age!

A friend of mine was Nicoles dresser at MAFW and she said that she seemed quite polite, she didn't really know any of the models though because she does more International work. Though she skipped out on a couple of the walk-throughs and my friend had to do them for her
