J'adore Ines... I agree with KKnardi that high heels would've looked better - on just about everybody else but call me crazy, it's part of Ines's style. Plus the fact she is 6 feet tall and rarely ever wears high heels. Thanks for the scans everybody!
^ Hehe, me too. Inès radiates elegance on these Festival pictures. And damn, I was recently combing through her past Chanel campaigns and there's no denying Karl's late muses don't hold a candle to her (except for Freja). Thanks for the updates guys!
She looks wonderful lately but I really don´t like the flats for Cannes. It looks quite awkward, androginous in a bad way.
By the way, I just don´t get that "I cannot stand heels" and the "I´m too tall for heels" many women say. Heels are not meant to be stilts, they´re not just devices to be taller. They add something to a style, and mainly they´re not as comfy as flats. They mean to create an look, they elongate the leg, they change the posture, they change the "flow" of the body.
That black dress, with those openings to see the legs (great by the way) totally clash with a size 10 foot WITHOUT heels. It looks bad to me, so bad
^ I think it's part of her whole look. If you read her book, you'll see that she loves to mismatch things. From her point of view, wearing heels with evening dresses would have made the whole outfit too boring and classic.
There's a lovely interview in French on Vogue Paris (source of pics below)
^I´ve read her book and of course I understand the concept of deliberatedly mismatching, but I just think that those shoes with that black dress just doesn´t work, or better said, I don´t like it at all. Maybe for the beach, or the pool, but DEFINITELY not for the Cannes red carpet.
I love flats, but not that ones with that dress. That look makes her feet look huge, manly and not sexy at all.
The purple dress with the pink Viviers is a winner combo!
^ The dress itself is beachy, though ... I like that combination better than the pink with plum. To me it's the wrong pink, it should be a plum pink not a hot pink ... to me it looks like she forgot to take her slippers off
