ouch! its not like she has to smile in every photo. and plus if you look for other photos (i can think of a few backstage ones off the top of my head), you'll find that she does smile. but like ybf said, it's not like money makes one happy.

She is very skeeny, and I like her...but....Sometimes she looks way too plain for me. Given that it depends on the photographer, because sometimes I love how she looks.

Just for you Faith, here's a quickie translation....

Chic: How did you become a model?
S: I’m from a small town in the metropolitan area of Florianopolis. When I was 14, I took part in a casting at school but they told me I was too skinny. Even so, they took my pictures and took them to Eskimo in Santa Catarina, which is still my agency today.

Chic: It’s been said that you evoke Kate Moss…
S: Sometimes, I think my eyes and mouth are indeed similar to hers.

Chic: What’s the best, and worst thing about being a model?
S: The best is having the opportunity to travel and get to know more people and places than you could have ever imagined. The worst: tight shoes and having to redo makeup several times a day. I have sensitive skin and it gets all irritated. I also don’t like walking in long dresses/evening gowns. I almost fell three times during the last shows season in NY.

Chic: What work do you still hope to do?
S: I want to open an important show, like Calvin Klein or Gucci.

Chic: Are you able to date, even with your busy modeling schedule?
S: No, I don’t date, I’m more concerned with my career. I don’t go out at night either, while all the other models go to parties. Myself, and Carol Trentini, who also doesn’t like craziness, stay home.

Chic: What do you do with your money?
S: Save and help my family. My father is a mason and my mom is a homemaker.

Chic: What do you like to do when you’re not working?
S: Stroll through Central Park and buy toys for my cousins and brother. I also buy for myself, I love stuffed animals, I’ve got lots.

Chic: What models do you admire?
S: I love Gisele, and Kate Moss, and my friends Jeisa and Carol Trentini.

Chic: Who are the photographers and designers you most admire?
S: I like lots of photographers: Mario Testino, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti….can you believe I still haven’t worked with Steven Meisel? Of the designers, I love Lagerfeld. He always believed in me. I was super nervous when I was the bride in the last Chanel haute couture show. The dress was heavy and long. I was sweating, but everything ended up ok. The show was beautiful.

Chic: What work have you done that hasn’t come out yet?
S: Campaigns for CK, Jill Stuart, and Gucci, and editorials for Vogue Italia, Paris, and America, and for V Magazine.

C: When will you come to Brasil to work?
S: I really want to do the next Sao Paulo Fashion Week, we’ll see if I can.

I love Solange! She's completely gorgeous, and seems so sweet, and a little shy, which is endearing. I can't believe she's only a year older than me! So beautiful. Her eyes, lips, and cheekbones are all gorgeous. Some magazine or other that I was flipping through named her as the model to watch in 2006, I can't remember which off hand, but it wasn't your typical high fashion magazine, which means Solange is also getting attention outside of the direct modeling world.
