Icon4 Sources / Credits for all Images Required. Important .. read before posting pictures.

All photos and news items in supporting cast must be linked back to the source they were taken from. If they are taken from another site, they must be given credit. This has been our policy all along and it's time to enforce it.

IF YOU POST A PICTURE AND DO NOT GIVE CREDIT TO THE SOURCE IT WILL BE DELETED. Supporting cast is a huge forum but it is going to dwindle down to nothing if pictures aren't credited. This is a legal matter that we have neglected to enforce for too long. Please help us out with this.

And by crediting it means you have to write the link to the website you found the images from on each post. It is quiet impossible for us to click on every pictures trying to search for a source.

*** Edited to add: Effective Jan, 2, 2008 we have been put on notice that images taken from ISIFA are posted in violation of owner's copyrights. Please do not post any pictures from the ISIFA site. ****

If it's a scan from a magazine that you did yourself, do you have to link to the magazine's website?

What if you don't know the photographer? I'm always scanning adverts, but I don't usually know who is photographing them.

Thanks for clearing it up, it never was quite obvious to me that you had to credit the source. So I get that -if known- it's also required to add the names of the responsible staff behind the pic? Great rule.

good.
now, may i ask *dumb* : are we really in need to do this even if the URL is clear enough? i mean, hosted pics should be credited, i agree but some are just so obvious, especially when taking from a site like gettyimages.

The ones which are obvious like Gettyimages doesn't need to be credited.

Thanks to everyone for all their effort to help with this tonight. We are not going back into threads but will only take care of current images posted from here on out. All of us appreciate the time many of you spend in making "supporting cast" one of the best model sites on the net.
