i actually agree with this when it comes to her printwork, imo not many newbies can evoke the necessary facial expressions/poses she's done from what she's produced, and not just basing on that most recent editorial. i wish she'd book something with a top photographer, she'll be a force to reckon with once that happens.
Once again it's not about being a newbie or not. It's a matter of having 'it' one way or another, as we say in french "le feu sacré" (the sacred fire burning in yourself or sth). Either you've got this thing inside of you or you have only small chance to have it.. For me it's not a matter of working with well known photographers or not, Tess Feuilhade is amazing and did amazing job with this story and could do even better with more inspired model/more creative magazine. It's just that I see Vita's modeling skills being limited to being very pretty and being able to use her body the right way which equals a great commercial career at the highest end.
As for your runway thoughts, I totally share them with you.
Her look is too flexible on the runway IMO, that's the main problem I have with her. She gets lost in the styling.
I don't know if I agree with you penny, because a lot of models can seem very average at the early, lower levels of their careers, then they hit high fashion and you can begin to see what's special about them. Likewise a lot of girls are totally pedestrian at first in terms of "talent", which I think is less a gift than a matter of learning and experience. So perhaps she'll blossom or maybe she will just be sort of pretty and commercial as you said. But anyway, I completely agree that it's nice to be able to have these relevant conversations about a model without slagging off the girl herself, or other members.

Penny, I agree with you on the depth point, but I believe in the efficiency of development.... Even though this is not talent-related, I love how she is obivously, purely beautiful and not as risky as niche girls and I have a feeling it will get her continuous visibility in both magazines and on the runway. Actually, she's so not the type I prefer but there is something youthful and cheeky about her looks which I really like, + this positive radiance at the NY show she opened (Forgot the name!).
To me she has potential (still it's a matter of tasts as you already said), so I'll definitely keep subscribing this thread. Although (which I mentioned one or two times here already), it wouldn't have hurt if her agencies waited a few months/years longer with her international launch as she's a bit undeveloped.
By the way, you don't need to tell me that you don't have anything against this gal. I hardly get upset about disagreements concerning some model (unlike many others here )
I agree with the need for development... to some point. Let's take a good example, Valerija Kelava who popped up on the scene with a very tiny book too and a very specific look that was somehow harder to get for many compared to Vita's. But she had that sort of geniune strength (talent) visible even on regular digitals taken against her agency's plain walls. Her career took off brilliantly and you can't call her a 'niche-market' model today.
And Cologne, my words about liking/not liking the girl weren't especially for you as I know you wouldn't get upset or whatever. Was just to make it clear to anyone that I'm not writing here to bash one girl (have no time/energy for this and I wrote because I think the topic was very interesting and relevant right now). Also did it in case Vita reads her thread, as she is a model I met, to clarify I make a difference between being polite in front of people and professionally critical when it comes to their work.
I noticed a gap between her body language skills which are imo pretty good, and her facial expressions which are still a bit contrived... that may indicate she's good at imitating "fashion poses" but not yet has the level of posing with her "own guts"... then I see what you mean Penny, or at least I think so, if you don't see anything from the beginning -even smth akward, which can tell you the girl has something very special in her - it might indicate that the process for her to learn to use her own feelings might take more time or eventually never happen... But as others say, time may be on her side, development, experiences, whatever... And as I like her look, I can only tell that I hope so
Vita gave an interview to her agency. You can find it on cheriemodels.blogspot.com and translate from russian to whatever language you need. Or you can simply read my version, I'm not very good in english, so please don't judge me seriously)
Where your errand was destinated to? For how long?
I managed to be in America (NY)... the country I’ve always dreamed to visit. Originally my trip was planned for 3 months, but I were there about month, because the agency decided to send me forward on FW’s route.
Wich agency represented you there? Did you like it?
My interests was represented by Silent. I liked them VERY much, inasmuch as they have that feature which is among not in all agencies. I mean the treatment to each girl... what is very important, because being in foreign country, arrived there for the first time and not knowing what’s happening inside “the model swirl”, very hard to adapt and understand (how to behave with clients, how to dress up on castings, what make-up to wear if wear any)... I’m feeling lucky, I arrived two weeks before FW, therefore I had time to insight the process.
How was your day roll on?
When I just arrived, first 2 weeks till FW everything seemed to be easy and simple... Waking up at 5-6 a.m. (as disparity in time is big)... Having breakfast, talking to parents, for 10 o’clock going to the agency, 2-3 hours for defile, taking my schedule... 2-3 castings and I’m free! But a week later... FW’s castings took place and IT whirled: 11-13 castings a day... in absolutely different meeting points in Manhattan, HUGE queues on castings, huge number of models, various clients... catastrophic shortage of time which was making me run, run and run! I CREEPED to home only at 10-11 p.m. with the thoughts “what should I eat?” and “how to get a spill and fall asleep?”))
Were you picked often? What kind of job it was?
I worked there quite often, the first job was a lookbook... and then shows started.
How did you spend your free time? Did you keep a company with anybody?
Unfortunately, there were no freetime!... and I didn’t catch to visit the places I wanted to visit! + it was a very cold weather! In our profession... not to keep a company is just impossible! First of all, I lived with a girl, which we communicated well. And of course sitting 2 hours at the casting you can catch to become acquainted with everybody and 10 times to quarrel ; ))
Was it easy for you to come to an understanding with americans?
After working with chineese... even with speechless man you can come to understanding. In fact I communicated as a piece of cake, so to speak taking chance to improve my english.
What was your most memorable job?
I opened Tory Burch 7 times : ) I still don’t understand why it has to go over and over 7 times?))
