Is there something in the sides of your chocolate bag to keep it up when open? Does your date code tag look like that?

Thanks for your help btw, Karma
Boots....Many of the fake stams on ebay have the same $1200 tag on them. But, you have to ask yourself why would anyone sell a real Stam, a bag that's high in demand, for less than half retail? I hate to tell you, but I would be 99% certain it's fake. I agree that many Australians would not know what a Stam was, BUT the seller must have gotten it from somewhere and she would only have paid retail for it if it was real.

As for the Australia issue...your best way of buying MJ and Chloe is from Net a Porter. I think I mentioned that to you before you bought your Stam from ebay. I think it's awful that so many Australians get sucked into fake ebay bags and then try to convince themselves that it's okay to spend $500-1000 aud on a fake bag that was bought by the unscrupulous seller from Shenzhen for about $40!!!

The other options are buying from Nieman Marcus, Luisa Via Roma and even Eluxury with a Shop the States account. It's really not that hard...

Good luck with your next purchase and hopefully you will get your money back this time.

jacobs, no - my date code is not like that, but it is also the fall bag - the earlier one's I think may have had that date code. I am not sure what you mean about things on the inside to hold it up?

You're welcome. I always check the company sites to see if a particular model is made. Then you can tell if it is fake or not. Have fun shopping!

Hi, It almost feels like there is something in there to hold up the sides of the bag, inbetween the front and back of the leather where the handles are attached to. The feeling extends down to where the snaps for the bottom straps start.

^ I can't say I've noticed that on my bag... sorry. I really can't tell on that bag, since it is white - I think it is harder to tell based on the leather, which is normally the easiest way for me to judge.

Does anyone know if they used YKK zippers on Silverado's in previous season's?

It looks fake to me. The color is one problem. A few more pics and I could be 100% positive. Copy and paste the auction #.

It looks really good : Outside zipperhead marked YKK on side of raised area ( just like the Ascot I have that I bought at Neimans), leather soft as butter, lining correct. Right size, side pockets right shape and thicker, harder leather , side pocket insides sewn correct with the whipstiching sewn into the seams, overall sewing good, edges all over are painted. All the fonts are correct, right size and are printed straight on all the areas that say chloe and the zippers. I brought it to Neimans and they think it is real also but can't tell 100%. I have never saw a silverado in leather in person, only the python ones. This is the white ( not ivory) model with the leather whipstiching from last spring. What concerns me on the bag is the following: No hanging whipstiching on side pocket bottoms, it is just laced across. While the leather is very soft, buttery and on the thin side the area where the handles are feels like there is something like a lining to hold the bag up on the sides when it's open ( it kinda makes a crinkling noise if I bend it alot). The hardware while not super shiny is also not super dull and cloudy ( I would say leans toward shiny) only slightly antiqued. The inside zipperhead is not marked YKK on the side of the raised area like the large outside one is. The date/serial code tag is as it is in the picture ( I know the older silverados had this but now the tags are different, not sure when they changed them). If anyone has this bag or can help in anyway, I would much appiciate it! Thanks a bunch!
^ i would say this is a fake.

here's a pic of the real deal from neiman's.

Ive ordered from NM before, the only difference is you request online chat to do the transaction rather than paying directly from the online checkout.

If you subscribe to Shop the States, you can use them for deliveries from Elux outside US for a very small fee.

As for NAP, I am very very surprised that you can't get delivery to Aus. I can't get on the site to check, but will do so later.

Luisa Via Roma does ship to Australia, last time I looked anyway. Worth checking again.

And finally, ebay is absolutely fine IF you buy from a credible seller and if you are prepared to pay retail or slightly higher for a new season item. I often make the judgement to pay an extra $100 to ensure authenticity for an item i can't source locally. Better than buying a fake for under retail, and throwing away good money.
