So net-a-porter will inform you about how much you'll be charged?
this is so annoying....I hate all the stupid custom fees
So browns just sent you your item and charge you when your stuff arrive?

serenade, just look on your receipt or your order confirmation... they break down what you are charged. your grand total will INCLUDE the customs fees. you didn't notice this when you actually place your order?
browns just takes off the VAT for you but what they do is prolly note on the declaration form that the receipient will be responsible for any other taxes, which would be the customs fee...

meowmix....
yes, I did notice the receipt, but I'm not sure if it means the tax for UK or the custom fees for US
if the custom fees is already included in the grand total
then what is the fee sec mention about that net-a-porter notify??
thanks

serenade, you won't be charged uk tax... if you paid attention while you were ordering, the fee they notify you about (as sec was saying) IS the us customs fee. net-a takes care of it all for you.

Serenade, Im not trying to state the obvious here, but you wont be charged uk tax if you dont live in the uk. I dont like Browns much, I find net a porter to be much more professional and faster with their online service.

love net-a-porter... they are so professional. their shipping is SUPER FAST! sometimes i get my items in 2 days. again, like everyone said, there are no surprise customs fees, because you pay for everything at once when you order on line.

and their packaging is the best!

vintage -- love your paddington!!!

Thanks to u guys for liking the bag. Im glad I wasnt disappointed with it!
Someone from America said that net a porter overprice some of the labels on the site..but maybe its the exchange rate? i dont know. But I have noticed net a porter charging more for a pair of MJ espadrilles and it was cheaper at browns....

VP, congrats! Finally the waiting is over for you. Glad you like dark brown. I am waitng for the same color. BTW, do you think the padlock is a bit inconvenient?

Serenade, I live in the US, too. Last year I bought some Viktor & Rolf from net-a-porter. The prices were actually quite good.

vintage princess,
I actually have this question about the lock on Paddington
did you think it's difficult to use the bag with the lock over there?
or not very much?

(is that ayu on your avatar? just wondering )

Sec, im glad the waiting is over..I was getting bad dreams about the paddingtons being sold out
The padlock is quite inconvenient and the 2 zips are a little unpractical to open and lock again but its ok as long as you dont need to go inside your bag all the time.

Serenade, I wouldnt recommend this bag for shopping, I have to keep on taking out my wallet in the queue when I pay for stuff as not to hold everyone up. The padlock is quite chunky and a little heavy
