Coach Daphne Bag
I saw this bag in person and also in US Weekly. Can you believe it is $700? I was in shock that Coach has gone up in price that much.

It reminds me of a marc jacobs bag from this season, I for the name. I think it starts with an "S"?

I think the bag is nice, but I wouldn't buy it.

it's basically a multipocket with a pseudo frame and a woven handle... not worth the 700 IMO

I agree. I thought about all the bags you can get for 700. I was amazed that they were actually asking 700.00 for a Coach.

i read an article that said that coach is trying to reach the higher-income market now. they don't want middle-class people to dilute their brand. i think it's too late for them to do it. rich people won't buy into it because well, its COACH and in that process, they're going to scare the middle-class people away. bad idea

^^ You're probably right. There are still a select few of middle aged women who feel that Coach is the epitome of handbags....

In a few years, Coach will probably transform into some uber leather goods company. Didn't the same thing happen to Gucci? Wasn't Gucci an almost bankrupt leather goods company that was strictly for older women, until of course, Tom Ford?! I don't doubt that in a few years, Coach will become some super luxury brand, where everyone who hated Coach will suddenly find new interest in it. They just need to play their cards right, find some good desginers and just change the company's image.
Remember 10 years ago when Club Monaco was basically a casual sportswear company? They sold sweat shirts with huge disgusting logos and the like. You would never find crap like that in CM nowadays.

I think though that Coach has already re-invented itself in recent years with its new ad campaigns and general revamp. Whether or not one likes the giant C logo it is very prominent and known. Coach is incredibly popular right now, I'm not a big fan of their handbags but I see them everywhere I go. The only other brand of bag I see as much if not moreso is Louis Vuitton. They could push themselves into a higher price range but I don't know if that is the right move for them. They are at the moment a very successful mid-range brand with a seemingly loyal group of customers. I don't think they should scare them away with a big price jump. Though overall the price of bags has raised. Perhaps this is just a sign of things to come. I just don't like the idea of it.

The Daphne is the hottest bag we have now. The Lilac is already sold out everywhere and the Mahogany is getting in short supply. I personally have sold 5. In person it is gorgeous.

I have to admit that the Daphne is marked up by at least $200, even if it were $598 it would be a better price point. The Daphne was soo anticipated, no one knew what it looked like until we actually got it in.

We span the range of prices, from $138 for an East/West Demi to a clutch we had esp for the Madison Avenue grand re-opening, that was made of peacock feathers and was $998, sold out in like two days. We have like 5k croc bags, but at Gucci or Dior you couldnt get a leather bag for that much.

I really like it but it's too expensive for me. I don't care whether it's Coach or not actually. I like the fact that it's pretty simple and there are no monograms thrown on it everywhere.

But at 700$, I'll pass.

Signature!! We're not Louis Vuitton. (pet peeve, everyone calls it a Monogram...)

All of our bags come with a Leather or Signature variation. I cant think of one (except the Daphne, Pocket Satchel and Pleated Hobo which dont come in signature) that doesnt' come in two materials, sometimes three when they use Suede.

^ Sorry! We call it monograms (in French) here

And I meant about the picture/the other colours... I'm sorry if I offended you, I meant that the bag in its leather form is lovely because it's really simple, a shape I like and yeah... I'm not that familiar with Coach products anyway but this one I really like
