LV has never made a bag like that. although the shape kind of reminds me of the damier ribera mini, like a really flat...fake version in monogram canvas. =D actually, i think i've seen the bag in the picture being sold at a street fair vendor. definitely a fake.

Actually, that isn't always true. On my Multicolor Speedy (and on many bags from the spring 03 Murakami collection) the LV's are indeed cut off. And these days, I've been noticing that more and more on authentic bags. So I don't think this is an accurate mode of determining authenticity anymore.
I've never seen a Louis bag in my life where the 'LV' monograme were cut off in that fashion. Of the dozens of Louis bags my sister and mother own, none of them are like that, not even the murakami bags. I've seen a few where the 'LV' are just sightly cut off, but just veeery slightly. Other than that, the closest thing I've seen so far is the 'LV' being covered by leather handles, straps and what-not. But never the 'LV' being sliced in half, or only 1/4 of it showing.
