Could anyone give me advice onhow to tell a real LV from a fake? I am buying one seceond hand and this will be my first designer bag. It's the brown monogram large speedy.

Ebay should hire TFSers to track down the fakes and close them. Only thing is, then there would be like nothing to bid on

I've been reporting a ton of fakes on eBay recently - every time I see a seller who has put up several fake bags all at once, especially if they're listed for over $500, I report the whole lot. I don't think it's had much effect, though. One group of items got pulled and relisted the next day. Sigh.

My husband actually suggested that I get all the TSFers to report every newly-listed fake bag, every day for like a month, just to see how eBay would respond. Anyone ready to stage a revolution?

i would be totally up for that, i'm serious. i've been really frustrated as to how to get more info out to ppl about how tell fake from real-my area of knowledge is only on Balenciaga bags, but i have a site that has info on it and i just wish i could show it to everyone who browses ebay for a balenciaga..then they wouldnt be spending 300-800 dollars on a bag thats worth 50 bucks :/ i really dont know how to get the info out to a wide number of ppl.

but yeah i'd be up for handling the balenciaga aspect of it

I am sure by now we all know that uniquemoda.com and lussomoda.com sell FAKES !!!!

What about this style of the Balenciaga bag though, is it really a style that is out there?
I think I have seen most of the Balenciaga bags in person or even on cadid pics, but NEVER saw that one on anyone.. it is called "CITY ARENA"

that is a real style, but it has been discontinued.

you should ask on the balenciaga thread (but don't ask about fakes -- people get touchy) -- they know WAY more than I do with my one measly bag.

but I think the arena came out right after the twiggy, which was 2 years ago (??) I think they only produced it for one season because it seemed like it was here and then *poof* it wasn't. I assume they discontinued it because it didn't sell. one thing I don't like about it is the thin shape and because it has no base, it falls over when you put it down.

about the reporting of fakes-i reported 10 fake Balenciaga auctions on Ebay last night after posting in this thread. i checked today and all the auctions i reported are gone. i feel good

doesnt seem like anyone else is interested in doing this tho, which sucks. if we all banded together i think we could really make a difference.

Angel, were you busy this morning?? I took a really quick look at eBay around midday, and a whole bunch of new listings for fakes got pulled just as I was looking through them. So I immediately thought you must have reported them - did you? If so, good work!
