annelein - Nay to both, sorry
themightysloane - Yay to the Cambridge Satchel; they really are lovely. I ordered mine directly from the CSC as I got my initials embossed onto it, but it took ages to arrive (I'm talking months, seriously). So my advice is to definitely order yours from ASOS (I know you were probably going to do that anyway). Another bit of advice: get the largest size possible. I got the 14" as it was only £81, and I really regret it; it's such an impractical size for me as it doesn't fit all of my things for college in!

Thanks guys for the feedback Blackkohl - will definitely take your advice (not sure im patient enough to wait months for it to arrive - wow!) The bags are leather and I've heard it's a fairly hard, durable leather. For anyone in the USA, they also sell them @ urbanoutfitters.com. I may order from them since it would be the 'quicker' option. Now just have to decide on the color!

I like the ASOS satchel that one just looks too huge, but of course you know your needs but i may step down a size to avoid the bookbag look.

Need a sensible handbag. Torn about whether to buy this 13" X 11" Proenza Schouler from NAP. I totally love this one, especially the cross strap over the top and the way the leather looks. I need to fit work stuff in it like A4 size notepads. And possibly the odd sandwich.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I got the pink bag, it feels like the very last gasp of a trend that may be ooovvveeerr already but I'll be happy with it for the coming season at least. Its somehow so frilly cute - which isnt my thing at all, and I'm all about trying new things now.

Nay to the Marc by Marc Jacobs satchel, somehow pointless. Yay to the cambridge and asos satchels, both classical and functional, and to the PS1 (with remark that something so "in" is bound to be "out" - but, then again, I just got a plisse bag so can't really say anything..)!
