Leyla_M - you just explain and show the little marks on your bag...If they've been working with Hermes for any amount of time they should be aware of this manufacturing problem. If not, tell them its "eco" adhesive or "colle" in french that is transparent at time of manufacture but becomes apparent after the bag is carried and exposed to the air. If they persist in being mystified or in some way imply that these marks are your responsibility, insist that they call the atelier at FSH, because they are well aware of these problems. Be prepared to have them take your bag for some time, perhaps, sending it to Paris for a proper job as a quick rub down in store with some leather conditioner is not going to remove this stuff.

grill,
i finally took my bag in! what a relief!
just told them, i hardly used the bag as i noticed the white marks everywhere which seem like "magic" glue that disappears with a little water but RE appear when dry! so they immediately knew it was an issue they had but it is not glue but WAX (cire). they had issues on different leather not yet on the TOGO...
anyway, it is taken in, might take up to 6 weeks!
will post when its back!

I just ordered a 35cm togo a few days ago only to be told by a friend that it is REALLY heavy and not worth it! Are there any other materials that you guys could recommend for a 35 since I'm adamant about the size. I need to inform Hermes of my change immediately before it's too late.

if i am not mistaken, box leather is a good lightweight leather alternative. the only thing is that it scratches easily.
a 35cm birkin in box leather is even lighter than a 35cm in crinoline/barenia combination (fabric-lined).
more heavy than a 35cm in togo is one in clemence.
hope this helps.

I think it's different from country to country... first it depends whether the waiting list is still open (that depends on when they open it etc) and how many birkins that country can actually get...you better go a H-store and talk to some nice SA.
