yeah, the lining on hers is light grey...it should be black. kind of a big flaw but i don't know if it's something people really care about, it just bothers me.

On the authentic bags, the red on the handles is actually painted on. That's the one thing I notice that sometimes lets me tell a fake from an authentic...on bags like the speedy, the red on the authentics is very thick and dark. On the replicas, it's usually too thin and/or orangish. Yours look pretty good, entjohns! Who was the supplier, again?

Thanks! Okay, no wonder I stared at my off white/beige authentic and can't see anything wrong! Sad that they commit such a big mistake....

nicky, you're welcome!! Thanks for getting on the list and making the order possible!!

entjohns, lovely bags!! They're from Jacky, right? I have an LV wallet from him and it's lovely. It broke right away but I glued it back together and it's holding up quite nicely now. If you don't mind my asking, how's the hardware on your Keepall? I have one I got from a different supplier (before I found TFS) and the leather is great but the gold hardware looks plastic. I'm wondering if Jacky's is better. I may have to get one from him.....

entjohns!!! I LOVE YOUR LVS! You are tempting me so much right now. I just went on Jacky's site and contemplated buying like everything. Congrats on your new acquisitions!

Does anyone know how to make the leather on the NBF bags more distressed? On my black RH city the front is so smooth but the back is crackly looking. I like the back better. And the black city on their ioffer site looks so much better than mine but I just got mine! Anyone with black cities... how's your leather?

Lv Ii

Thanks Ashionista for the handle info--and the red is not orangey but a lipstick red. The small ellipse shows the colour most accurately. I'm happy to take a closer picture for anyone considering buying. Supplier is Jacky. pfc.

Thanks Babyblue for pale leather info...the hardware is kinda thickish ie about three times the thickness of a 'normal' zipper, about the thickness of two pennies? (I can verify that today, I have some US currency floating around). And it is VERY brassy-ie goldy. I tried to take a photo but I have a new digital camera and I couldn't get it to focus for a REALLY closeup shot. Will try again today--and maybe even try with the plastic covering off.

Seeing as lining is a topic..what linings should LVs have? The keepall has none.

I also read somewhere that to be a "design-inspired" that a bag has to have at least THREE differences...could that account for the linings ie not merely a not to cheaper production values but a concerted effort to avoid legal/customs probs?

Someone earlier asked if carrying 2 BBags was too much; I've NO fashion sense so please disregard following. Originally I planned to carry the ellipse AND the horizontal but the view in the mirror is pretty ordinary. I'm hoping the Horizontal will be able to house laptop, wallet and papers in NYC. My rule of thumb is, if you're asking the question, you're feeling it's not okay and if you're uncomfortable, then don't. (Students do it to me all the time with questions such as "is it okay if I don't come to class/hand my paper in four days late/sleep during your lectures").

Thanks Educo and crew for the pictures of the Nightingales...I always breeze through the hundreds of photos in various websites--each time you guys post pictures I see a bag in a new light.

BTW, though I bought five bags, two are actually in holding pattern as presents for secretary and research assistant.

Entjohn, that was me! Thanks for the heads-up. I've been carrying my cornflower day bag and LV messenger bag for papers, and no one has said anything. As I work in the beauty trade magazine arena, there are many stylish women who would make a fuss.

Not that it matters, I guess. It just came up because the leather is the same on both pieces, you know?

Your pieces are gorgeous! Hope you're happy with them.

Kimair & Alejandro: Who has these with the proper lining? Stylebar has been MIA and Jacky is not doing these. Where to go? I'd like to get the original in black and the brown one with the gold hardware.
