Gotta love students!!! I was the student who only missed a class if I had to, always turned my homework in on time and cried when I got my first B.

As far as I know, the Keepalls don't have lining.

Regarding the 3 differences rule, I don't think it's accurate. I know a lot of replicas are 99% so I don't think there is a specific number of things that have to be "off".

Well you are a great boss to have if you give them LV!!!

You wouldn't believe the excuses I've heard; and they're always the same students. My cluster@#ks as I call them. My admin assistant deserves a "LV" because of the crap she has to put up with and as everyone knows its the admin people that run universities. Piss off the admin person and see how your travel arrangements go!

Thanks for the info about the lining. BTW I exaggerated thickness of zippers - they're only 3/4 penny width.

I *think* the 3-differences rule came from one of those ADVERTISED online websites -- offered up as a promise that they weren't mirror ones?! I've visited way too many sites and read way too much about handbags in the past months to be sure.

I also read that LV did not EVER offer his goods for sale (okay it was Wikipedia) and when I'm in Japan I always see on Japanese tv (which I adore) crowds of LV starved women fighting each other for discounted LVs and shoving fists full (or I mean fistfulls) of yen and buying ten at a time. And NOT at LV stores...I wish I spoke Japanese.

TOTALLY off topic--I'll be in NYC next week and meeting my editor to discuss upcoming book..can anyone suggest a really HIP, cool place (not too noisy) to meet her? Coffee/bar/Michelin star restaurant...I don't care (she's paying so price is no object but it's my choice). PM so as not to bore others on forum.

I've heard the three differences rule -but I thought that applied to subcontracted clothing (Topshop sees a dress at a trade fair, makes three design changes and it becomes a Topshop 'original' design. Marks and Spencer make three different changes and 'own' the design of their garment).

This wouldn't count for replicas, because even if they have three differences they're still violating copyright law by having the name, the logo etc. Having differences like lining etc. doesn't matter if you've illegally stamped trademark louis vuitton logos all over your bag.

to be honest, no one does. they all have small details wrong, but some do have black linings and some even have brown linings. the only one that's been truly 100% accurate that i've seen so far have just started popping up. and it's just from one seller (i forgot who)....the new wrinkled patent with the thin strap. that one is absolutely 100% correct...the lining is black cotton and it has 2 zipper pulls on the top. but they wanted an insane price on ioffer, like $250 or something.

Would that be the seller Neiman Quality? They have the black patent listed at $290, but the description does not mention the lining color and there is only one photo. Their best price from one offer was $280. It looks nice, but that's high for a rep. After others get the new improved version the price will drop. Other than this bag, everything else shown in their Ioffer store is same stuff that Jacky offers for the most part, at much lower prices.

Wow, that's outrageous. You can't really expect an exact replica all of the time. I don't mind the lining being a different color(as long as it's not WAY off the mark), I am more concerned about the outer hardware because that's the first you see.

I'll look around, but thanks for the info.

Thanks Miz...since these are so new, I guess I'll wait and see if they get better after a few rounds. I'm also hoping they come out with the red.

So now, I REALLY want the Chanel Modern Chain E/W tote in black washed leather that you and Babybluestar have... Just my luck, I can't find it anywhere I've tried all the usual suppliers and none of them have it in the same leather. Anyone have any ideas?

I like the new one that Jacky has with the black chain; I'd get that but I already have the other one so don't need two of them.

Yeah, I'm considering that one, but do you think the leather looks as "authentic" as the one you have? Also, remember Chanel recalled those when they forst came out 'cause the resin chains were falling apart? Wonder how the rep's are going to hold up... Hey, if you want the new one I'll take yours

i just realized i never posted pics of my black nbf mens day....
i received it in november and i love it. a few days after i got it, a piece of the hardware fell off and i took it to a bag repair place in new york to get an alternative piece of metal put in to hold the strap for 10 bucks. you can see the replacement part in one of my pics....it seems sturdy now.
i havent used the bag much but i think i will in the future.
there is no glue smell whatsoever anymore.

im debating asking nbf to make a violet or magenta mens day in the future (although i know the bag didnt come in those colors original). i think i might ask nbf for extra pieces of hardware in the future...just in case something falls off...

what does everyone think of the color of the bag? would love to hear everyones opinion.....
