^guys please don't post links or anything linking a website or we'll be in trouble. re-hosting a picture is a much better way of posting, like Kate has done above..

Kate, i love the bag. I haven't seen any with black chains, but i love it. it looks a lot like a metalic real one i saw the other day.

O M G!!!!!!!!!!!

Do any of you ever get tempted to go buy the authentic version of whatever bag you're dying for?

I know that it's outrageous to even HOPE for an authentic Mahina because it's $3,100, but I want a real one!! I want to walk into the Louis Vuitton boutique and ask for it and buy it and walk out of that store with my GENUINE Louis Vuitton and hold my head high. I also want to be able to say an honest "yes!" when people ask me if it's real.

:Sigh: A girl can dream, right??

I purchase both replicas and authentic. No one ever asks me whether mine are real or not.

I don't know why I get stuck with that very RUDE and inappropriate question but people ALWAYS seem to ask me! Probably because people know my DH and I don't have much money....but my Mom does so they're probably trying to figure out if Mommy bought it for me!

How do you all respond if someone DOES ask that question? I feel like saying "Of course it's a real bag." Hehe. It is REAL, it's just not authentic. The bag itself is real, not a figment of your imagination!!

yes and no.....I have no real interest in spending $3000 on a mass produced, machine-made bag. My family and SO would think it very irresponsible if I did.....auth vs. replica is an ongoing debate with myself....after reading some books about the designer handbag industry, I want to buy these horribly over-priced bags even less. I have quite a few auth bags, and I sort of feel silly when I carry them. Like people I know look down on me for wasting so much money on a bag, instead of investing/saving it. meh......I just try to enjoy each bag I have for what it is, and I try to not get too caught up in the "game" of appearances, consumerism, advertising, and attaching self-worth to objects. Hope this makes sense.....just my two cents.

Strangers have never asked me, but my friends have, and I am honest with them. On the other hand, I have had strangers walk up to me and tell me my bag was real......kinda' strange...."I love your real bag, it's so nice to see a real bag among all the fakes I see everyday"...(it was a real bag, but the way) I just said thanks and walked away....I have NEVER discussed a handbag with a stranger, and I would never ask someone if their bag is real or not, I just really don't care, you know?

I've never had anyone ask if my bag was real or not. (I only have a Stam ATM.) But the deal is, it's a very nice bag, so I try to match very nice outfits with it. Maybe that's why I don't get questioned. If someone asked me and I was otherwise dressed nicely, I'd probably feel like I can afford to be honest. I try to buy nice clothes cheaply, so it kind of follows the same mentality when buying a nice but replica bag. However, if I were dressed like a bum and was asked, I would just feel cornered into being truthful. Either way, I can't really fool anybody and I'm not sure why I would. Most people asking aren't all that themselves.

Strangely enough, having both authentic and replica, I have had a few bags pass as authentic in the boutiques. Only two, because I switch up a lot and have never purposely tried to take a rep into the boutique. At the end of the day, I think it boils down to whose carrying the bag. You can have an authentic bag and be questioned because unfortunately, spectators, strangers and outsiders don't see you as "fabulous" enough to have acquired said bag. AND, vice versa. You can be the "fabulous" woman with a replica and no one would give a second thought to your bag being "fake", because you fit the "bill".

I say, if you bought it, flaunt it. Carry it confidently.

im just a big cloud of mystery to people...

i'll never tell. haha. but i agree with pavement. if you're looking amazing as a whole, people won't really even care at that point, cause they see that there's style and the whole thing looks amazing, so even the thought of thinking its a fake bag might just fly off their heads.

i barely get asked cause i dress up even to go to the damn supermarket.

btw, im ordering a blk caviar reissue from proffitcome. so excited.

Well I wear it well and almost always have heels on. I'm NOT the sweats kind of girl!! People don't look at me with disdain and ask...it's more like giddy girls going "OMG I LOVE your bag, is it real!?!?"

I understand what you're saying, it is definitely all how you carry yourself. I'm just clarifying. I don't go around looking like a ragamuffin with a designer bag!! hehe!!

I own both authentic and replica, as well. Nobody knows I carry replicas except for my fiance'. Most of my close friends know I am really into handbags and stuff, and most wouldn't have the slightest idea if something was real or not or even how expensive some of the bags can be. If I was asked that question, I would confidently reply with, "What do you mean?" Then if they said, "I mean, is it a real Louis Vuitton (or whatever brand)," I would reply with a confident, "Oh, yes." If they inquire as to how you afforded it, just tell them you got a great deal on Ebay or something. Or just say you saved up and your mom helped you out. If you're confident, they won't keep pressing.
