Lauren talked about her bags in a recent interview

Quote:
CP: Was designing clothes and bags a dream of yours for a long time?
LC: I’ve always wanted to design clothes and then the bags came to me as an opportunity. I’ve always loved Linea bags so it was a great fit and they allowed me to do my own twist on it. As for the bags, I like purses with a more simple design. Now there are a lot of bags with tons of hardware on them. Mine have a simple chain. I wanted the bags to be classic because when I spend money on a bag I want to use it for as many seasons as possible.”
CP: Your bags aren’t as expensive as some of the lines out there.
LC: The criticism I got at first was that I wasn’t making my line affordable to fans. That’s one of my goals.
CP: Lauren, love the tote bag because it gives you a lot of room.
LC: When I designed a tote bag I wanted it big enough to fit magazines into it. I’m always traveling, plus I’m a student. You need a lot of room in those bags. Plus my bag has a clip so you can make it look smaller.”
I agree with her about bags with too much hardware. I don't like bags covered with logos or with too many studs, zippers, buckles..etc.

the tote bag is surprisingly cute considering how dull and Target-esque her clothing line is. but $350? that's just absurd.

That big chain is so awkward, almost as if it is thrown onto the clutch as an attempt to make it 'fashionable'.

That's a good starting point when designing a bag, to take a specific object and make the piece large enough to hold it. I don't look at purses/totes/etc. very often, but when I do I've found that they're often too small for something like a magazine, but too big for simply a wallet or keys.

But that's why I just use jean pockets for my wallet and keys.

The designs are very simplistic. She relies a lot on chains to give the bags "spice". They're pretty boring to me personally. I like the tote, but as others mentioned, it is really overpriced.

I bought the tote when it came out and I still love it, and have since purchased the clutch and coin purse. I am very happy with my purchases!

I like the bag Lauren designed and was waiting for it to go on sale, but it's sold out. Ughh. I like some of the Linea Pelle bags on her website, but I've never bought a Linea Pelle bag, I have a belt that is of good quality but are the bags nice, does anyone have one that they ordered a few years ago that's still in one piece/nice? I bought a Cynthia Rowley bag a few months ago and it fell apart so now I freak out when buying bags.
