Luxx, I hope you love your bag! I think it is nice and a bit quirky, but I doubt it will be an "It" bag the way the paddington is. But it is perfect for my style!

I have to admit, I have always criticised MJ bags in the past. But I have fallen in love with this one. Yes, it is very Chanel-ish. Precisely why I love it! Though the fact that it might not be able to be shoulder-worn bothers me a little.
Ah well.....I can only admire it from afar anyway.

susie, I think that the chain handle should fit over the shoulder even with a coat on -- it looks long enough. I'm in love with it too, and thinking about getting it in taupe.

The chain handle fits easily over my shoulder even with a coat on, it is only the double leather handles that don't quite fit over heavy clothes (I can get them on if I'm just wearing a tank or t-shirt, though).

Hope that's helpful!

The taupe looks very pretty in September's Vogue, there is a spread that has a model holding the bag with a kitten in it.

Eee! I just go it tonight and I love it. Youngprof, I think it will fit right into my wardrobe! It has a very vintage vibe going on. Its certainly Chanel-ish but with a bit of a quirky, even nerdy twist. The Chanel quilted bags always strike me as more classic whereas this is quite offbeat.

I enjoy the leather on this bag, I was fearing that it would be hard but if anything it feels glossy and supple with a slight texture. It is different from the smooth calf though. It has also got a nice sheen as well which looks lovely. I'm going to take photos as soon as I can get un-lazy. I can scan the photo from Sept. Vogue as well if anyone would like to see it if only for the pretty of Karen Elson.

Unrelated but Petrol Blue seems to be the color of choice for the rich and pretty: Lindsay has been seen around town with her petrol blue Stam and MJ Blige was wearing one at the Marc show this week. Linds must really like her blue bag, she's been wearing it alot and normally she seems to change bags every hour on the hour. I'm kind of hoping though that this purse doesn't catch on with the celebs, these two girls are known bag addicts so they probably have every bag under the sun but I don't really want this to reach it bag status. Hopefully it wont, though a few other celebs (Eva Longoria, Maria Sharapova) were wearing the small quilted at the MJ show, which I like to think of as the Baby Stam. I am living under the delusional logic that all Marc bags should have twee names stolen from his circle of chic friends.

I guess I just don't see the it factor on this bag, its not really Paddington 2: Lockdown or anything. Limited appeal but those who love it really love it. They do both look really cute with it though.

I forgot to mention that the lining is DIVINE.

I got the chance to see and hold one of these bags today! I have to say, I thought it would be dreadfully heavy, but it wasn't at all - at least not compared to other MJ bags. The leather is really cool. It isn't stiff at all but really flexible and squishy. It has a pebbled, rough, grainy texture that looks like it could be run over by a lawn mower and come away unscratched. Definitely a bag that will be able to take abuse.

I found the chain to be surprisingly comfortable on my shoulder. The handles did fit over my shoulder - but the large clasp was a little too close to my armpit for my liking. The taupe was better looking in real life than in pictures.

Anyway, the bag gets two thumbs up from me. I'm too much of a Balenciaga nut for me to spend $1200 on this bag, but if it goes on sale, I may just fork over the money.

I also got to try on the quilted Multipocket - which was nice and light. Very surprising for an MJ bag.

P.S. It does have kind of a grandma-ish vibe. I am almost positive that my husband would hate it. But, I think its cool.

I totally agree ^^ I wouldn't spend 1200 on it, but if it goes on sale, I'll consider. My brother was with me when I saw it and he did actually saw it looks like something for a grandmother.

I've noticed a lot of quilted bags this season. theres chanel of course, MJ, and LV is doing quilted bags too.

I bought this bag last night after going to 4 different major deparment stores in London. I'm amazed at how quickly this is selling out!

I bought it in black but unfortunately noone seems to have received the blue yet. If anyone sees the blue in London then please let me know!

aww, i was hoping this thread would pop up..i wanted to make one, but then i forgot, and i come back and it's here!!
i'm a BIIIIIIG fan of this bag...
i saw them in person last week, and they're absolutely gorgeous! i saw it in the taupe and black. i'm VERY undecided about the color..hopefully, if they stll have it, i'm gonna see the petrol in person todayy..had anyone seen any of the other three colors? (pearl, violet, bordeaux) i'm curious to see them in person...
i love everything about this bag..it makes me happy...
and for me, the handles did fit over my shoulder..but i didn't have a coat on, or anything (just a thick-ish hoodie)
and i will admit... i probably wouldn't have looked twice at the bag if it weren't for lindsay lohan using it in cadids...the bag looks really stiff and stodgy in the online store pics (slightly less in, i think, eluxury's pic, though, cos it shows the chain..), lol. which is not what i would've thought i'd fall in love with...
and it really wasn't as heavy as i thought it would be!

i do wonder, though, what the chances are of the bag still being available at the end of the season sales. i've been burned with MJ bags before, when i first started getting into deisgner bags... i bought a hobo and two months later, it was on sale...it really made me sad..i was like 'why didn't i just wait!'. but i still adore my hobo and i don't really mind that i paid full price.. i guess it will have to be that way with the stam, since i love the bag too much to even SAY..and i don't wanan chance on missing out on it because i was waiting for it to go on sale...

Really unpleasant looking, nothing new for MJ though...

Wait, let me get this straight. Models "dont have presence" but he still names handbags after them? Come on Marc, lets stop the contradiction.

Pictures as promised!

Some of the photos don't have the chains since I was wearing it around without the chain yesterday. I think its a little subtler sans chain though I like detatching the chain and using it in different ways. I wore it on my jeans this week and as a belt it's really quite useful. But I just adore the bag, I can fit all my needs into it and more.

thanks for the pics! it's a really nice bag, seems like it'd be fun to wear. the person who said their husband would probably hate it cracked me up, i know my boyfriend would hate it too. guys just don't get the slouchy, weird, grandma-type cuteness.

Probably the second Marc gets buddy buddy with her. It must be some unwritten rule that if you're Marc's friend he'll name a bag after you. I'm only surprised that there isn't a Kirsten or Winona bag. Or even a Lil Kim one as she is his latest infatuation.

Heh. Now I'm imagining what in the world a Lil' Kim bag would look like.
