i really wanna know the real and full story behind these bags. i heard from three stores that their stock wass sent back for repairs....but what what the problem that needed to be repaired??
i have mine, and it's holding up fine (again *knock on wood*), so i'm not going to let myself get bothered about it...but it'd be nice if there was some kind of official notice, instead of just hearsay from SAs at the stores...

but i agree! make sure you check your bags all over before using them, ect.
yah! i wish they'd announce something official. i keep hearing things and it's making me way nervous! i haven't had any problems with mine this far....there was a teesny weensy little scratch on the leather over the frame when i first got it, but i wasn't going to return it over that, because by the time i had receieved my bag, they were sold out everywhere. has anyone been able to call a MJ boutique? i'd think they would be a slightly more reliable source of information regarding these bags, (i dunno, maybe not )....and who do you send it to for repairs ? back to the store you bought it from, or do you contact an MJ store??? and do they charge for repairs? i dont know much about that process so if anyone can enlighten me, i'd appreciate it soooooooo much!

edna, when saks SAs talk about things getting "picked up" when talking about orders, that means they're talking about a locator order. what that is it that there is an order sent out to all the stores who have the bag via computer, the stores that have it "pick up" the order and your bag comes directly from that store. sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't... if i'm looking for a very high demand item, it's best to insist that they call and VERIFY that it's available, or even call and do an order over the phone right then and there. fortunately i've been lucky in the past and i've had SAs who took care of that for me... all they really do for you for a locator order is put the order out, and after that it's not really in their hands anymore

GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! this is from the lush and ioffer thread:
"
LADIES!!! I keep on popping in and out of here but GREAT NEWS!!! NBF are in the works for the STAM BAGS! they just sent me an email regarding about it and they said that it will take at least 12-14 days for everything to be completed..can't wait! Colors will be blue, black, taupe and red and I have a feeling that they had perfected the brass hardwares since they have been working really hard on it.......can't wait...also whoever wants to get on the waiting list should email them now since they have informed me that it might not last long......"

i still dont know what NBF is but it sure pisses me off!!!

Thanks for the tips, sugar and meowmix! I will be calling Saks tomorrow to double check on my "locator order". I didn't know that was how Saks did it. Seems kind of unreliable, doesn't it? Especially after the SA told me "Yes, it is the right bag and it is out there and it is definitely yours".

And yuck, that fake Stam looks terrible!

It wasn't on ebay but I did report it. It won't do any good on this particular site but I tried.

Having Saks locate a bag is usless. I got burned twice that way, once on the black Chloe Bowler (that I ended up getting through Nordstrom's locator), and once on the Stam. Both fell through because the SA didn't actually find the bag, they just put in a request for it and by that time they were long gone. Their system SUCKS.

^^ I'm getting more and more discouraged. I suppose the only way to get one now is if you're lucky to be online and on the site if BG or NM happen to list it? Or to get it off eBay for $700 over retail... I am becoming so desperate that I just might!

Edna: I'm surprised that I haven't seen them on NM or BG or Saks at all this week--I've been planning to PM you if I saw them! Maybe they have finally dwindled for good (although it's only Tuesday, lol). Personally, I would just wait (and hope) for the new colors to come out before buying on ebay!

well. i saw a few on ebay that were only a few $100 over retail....but now i'd be weary of buying it off of ebay because of the new fakes...and the fact they have already been listed on ebay....i caught and reported one so far....grrrrrr.....
